Chapter 2

"Thanks!"

When I got in the car, I thanked him sincerely.

If Zeke hadn't asked me where I was before and came to pick me up, I might have been being bothered by the two of them.

Zeke looked at me with interest.

"Ex-boyfriend?"

"Um."

"You break up because of that girl?"

I nodded in response.

I didn't know why Zeke started to care about my ex-boyfriend.

But Zeke sneered, full of contempt, "Julia, your taste in men used to be not so good."

Just like before, Zeke neither called me Miss Smith.

He just liked to call me Julia.

One time when tutoring, I couldn't help but ask him.

"Why do you always directly call me by my name? Could you please respect me as your teacher?"

But he turned around, picking up a book and preparing to do exercise.

"You are only two years older than me, why should I call you Miss Smith?"

He acted as if nothing had happened.

If the book hadn't betrayed him, I would have almost been deceived by him.

I pointed at the book.

"Hey, I haven't taught you this yet, can you do it?"

What responded to me was Zeke's red ears and his stubbornness.

"I can't. Teach me now."

That time I almost misunderstood that he liked me too.

But later I realized that it was just my misconception.

Thinking about how I was played by him as his teacher, now I was still looked down upon by him.

I was angry from that.

"Zeke, we are just in a contractual marriage, you shouldn't interfere in my private life."

That day, I received a message from Zeke when I was struggling over whether to agree to the old man's request.

"Julia, the old man doesn't have much time left. If we get married, you can save your father's company and I can get the inheritance. It's a win-win situation."

What he meant was that we could also get divorced after the old man passed away.

When he heard me say that, Zeke didn't respond, but tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

The atmosphere in the car suddenly became a little gloomy.

What I just said was indeed a bit too harsh.

To ease the embarrassment, I cleared my throat.

"You're so honored that the restaurant owner came down to invite you personally."

"It's none of your business."

...

He really held a grudge. So I just shut up and ignored him.

When we arrived my home, I thought I should face my former student, even though he was rude in daily life.

I thought I should still show proper manners and teach him how to be a good person.

I put on a smile and said, "Thank you for sending me back today."

But the boy, just like he did during the day, stepped on the accelerator and sped away.

I shook my head silently in my heart.

That child was incorrigible.

Zeke didn't come to see me for several days.

I looked at the marriage certificate again and again to make sure that I was not dreaming.

Unexpectedly, I received a message from him.

"I'll pick you up at 6:30 p.m. The old man told us to go home for dinner."

But because of the traffic jam, it was 6:40 when I got home. The boy's temper was even worse than before, so I hurried to find him.

When I opened the car door, I saw him playing with his mobile phone quietly, without any impatience.

He just sat there quietly waiting for me.

"Sorry, there was a traffic jam on the road. I'm sorry for your waiting."

I was genuinely apologetic.

Zeke smiled slightly, with the dimple forming on his left cheek.

"I got used to it."

Was it due to the year of my tutoring?

Because Zeke's home was in a villa area, it was difficult to get a taxi every time. At the beginning, I always couldn't manage my time well and was always late.

I suddenly felt embarrassed when I thought of that.

I was not punctual as a teacher, and now I was still late as a wife.

Zeke must be laughing at me in his heart again.

When we arrived at the villa where the old man lived, the meal was already prepared.

At the dinner table, the old man looked much better and was in a good mood.

He kept serving me food and also reminded Zeke.

"You guy, you must treat Julia well now that you get married."

But what he said triggered something in Zeke.

He put down his cutlery.

"So you treat my mother badly because she didn't marry you."

The table suddenly became silent and the old man also put down his cutlery in anger.

But I had a piece of beef in my mouth.

I didn't know whether to eat it or not.

It was so difficult for me.

The elder aunt next to me was a very shrewd person.

Noticing the atmosphere was tense, she intervened immediately.

"Your father meant that you should love your wife after you get married. Besides, your mother left on her own at that time."

Before she could finish speaking, the old man left the table angrily.

When Zeke saw the old man leave, he also stood up and was about to leave.

Seeing that I was still holding that piece of beef, he frowned at me.

"You don't come with me?"

I followed him immediately.

The meal ended unpleasantly.

The old man's personal butler came after us and gave us a bunch of keys.

It was a marriage house that the old man prepared for us.

In fact, his father was really good to Zeke.

His father never got married in his life. He only found out that he had a teenage illegitimate child when he was 70.

He really treasured him dearly.

But Zeke was a stubborn person with a rebellious nature. Every time he saw the old man, he got angry with him.

Arriving at the marriage house, I found that the old man was really a thoughtful man.

Everything was prepared inside, including plenty of spare clothes and daily wear.

Zeke said we would stay here tonight.

After looking at the villa area, I thought it was impossible to get a car.

So I sent a message home.

My mom wasn't surprised. "Okay, you should live together after you get married."

When I went upstairs, it was my turn to be stunned.

Where should I sleep?

Zeke came up and saw me with a confused look standing in the middle.

"What are you doing, why not sleep?"

Then he opened the door of the master bedroom.

Well, after all, we had got married.

The younger husband was so relaxed, so I also walked in with a relaxed expression.

As soon as I entered, I found that Zeke was about to take off his shirt. The corner of his shirt was lifted up, revealing his distinct abdominal muscles on his fair skin.

He had an excellent shape.

I couldn't help but stare at him.

But Zeke stopped taking off his clothes.

"How did you get in?"

Then he seemed to understand something with a charming smile.

Walking towards me, he whispered in my ear.

"Julia, do you want to live in the same room with me?"

Suddenly I realized that I had misunderstood.

My face turned red with shame and I immediately turned around and ran to the guest room.

Even with the door closed, I could still feel my heart beating restlessly.

How did the skinny boy before have such a good figure now?

Thinking of Zeke's smile, I felt like his dimples were laughing at me.
