After Leaving My Ex, I Married Happiness Chapter 1

My dad's company was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Although it was not a big company, it was the achievement created by my father's lifetime's hard work.

After considering a long time, I finally contacted the employer I had when I tutored in college.

To my surprise, the old man who was suffering from a serious illness thought for a long time and said slowly.

"That's OK, but you need to marry Zeke."

Zeke George was his long-lost illegitimate son who happened to be a student of mine.

My student would become my husband?

I instinctively wanted to refuse, but the old man made me a promise.

It was feasible to be with a student. And it would be nice to have a handsome and rich husband!

Under the urging of the old man, Zeke and I got our marriage certificate in a hurry.

There was no wedding, no dowry, but fortunately my father's company was saved.

Completing the marriage procedures in the institution and looking at the certificate, I still thought it felt a little unreal.

Remembering the college reunion in the evening, I called for a taxi to leave.

"Where are you going?" Zeke's tone was full of questions.

"I have a class reunion tonight. I'll take a taxi myself."

It was just a false marriage, so I shouldn't trouble him so much.

Zeke just looked at me, looking a little angry.

"Suit yourself!"

Then he stepped into his car, started and drove away.

I was left standing there, confused.

After not seeing him for a few years, I found that his temper had been bad!

When I arrived at the class reunion, most people were there, and I didn't see my ex-boyfriend, so I felt relieved.

I was willing to come because I heard that he didn't have time to attend.

After eating and drinking, several boys insisted on going to a Karaoke.

In the midst of the superb atmosphere, the door of our private room was pushed open and Frank Lane stood at the door.

By his side, his childhood sweetheart, Sherry Suen, was still following him as always.

Just my rotten luck! I suddenly lost interest.

After saying goodbyes, I picked up my bag and was about to leave.

As soon as I got out of the elevator, someone grabbed my hand.

"Julia, don't make trouble any more! Stop it and be obedient."

I found it funny that he actually thought I was making troubles.

It was he who missed my family dinner that he originally promised to attend because of his childhood sweetheart.

It was he who rushed to take care of his childhood sweetheart despite the fact that I had a fever.

It was him who contacted her secretly even though he knew I minded that.

He never understood that disappointment was not about a single thing.

It was the accumulated disappointments that had gradually erode my love.

But in his telling, it was my fault!

I took out the marriage certificate I had just received today from my bag and showed it to him.

"Well, I got married today, and it wouldn't be nice if my husband saw us doing this."

As if he didn't believe it, Frank snatched my marriage certificate and checked it again and again.

"Julia Smith, are you crazy? He was your student!"

As he said that, he tried to pull my hand again, but I resisted instinctively.

Sherry echoed his words.

"Julia, marriage is a lifelong event. You can't just do whatever you want. Unlike your ignorant student, you need to think it through carefully."

I didn't know when Sherry caught up with me, and just like before, I couldn't get rid of her no matter how hard I tried.

Her tone seemed to express caring but it was actually contemptuous.

From the past to now, Sherry had always been trying to meddle in the affairs about me and Frank.

"Don't worry, my husband is much more sensible than your Frank."

After that, I wanted to leave. But Sherry started to act with affection again and pulled my hand to persuade me.

"Julia, do you know that Frank has been looking for you like crazy recently?"

I felt very annoyed. Why couldn't I get rid of these two phonies even after breaking up?

Sherry pulled me hard while speaking. I suddenly lost my balance and my body began to tilt.

Just as I was about to fall backwards, suddenly a hand held my waist and gave me support.

"What do you two want with my wife?"

There was a hint of anger in his tone, and he deliberately emphasized the word "wife".

Maybe it was because Zeke's aura was too strong, Frank stood aside without saying anything, and Sherry let go of my hand.

"Oh, I heard that Julia got married, so I came to congratulate her. I wish you a happy marriage."

I had to admit, after not seeing her for two months, Sherry's pretending skills was still so good.

"Thank you. I think you two are a good match as well."

Hearing the compliment, Sherry glanced at Frank with a proud look on her face.

Zeke's tone shifted. "You are respectively a drama king and a queen."

Sherry changed countenance, and Frank was also furious, "What do you mean?"

I must admit that it was quite exciting to see Zeke being sarcastic to others.

But Sherry was not a pushover either.

"I heard that you were Julia's student? Have you graduated now? If you are still studying, Julia must be under a lot of pressure."

The words were full of sarcasm.

"Thank you for your concern. I have graduated now and am planning to take over my family business."

Zeke answered calmly.

Sherry sneered as if she had heard a joke.

I knew she didn't believe it.

"Julia, I had told you that young people are always immature. You'd better not brag to satisfy your vanity."

Right at that time, the manager of the restaurant where we just had a dinner party upstairs came down and ran to me and Zeke.

"Mr. George, you don't tell us to come here in advance. Otherwise I would have reserved a private room for you."

"I came here today to pick up my wife. I'm leaving now."

Zeke couldn't be bothered to pay attention to them. He put his arm around my waist and turned away.

Leaving behind bewildered Frank and dumbfounded Sherry.

Not long after walking, I heard Sherry's sharp voice.

"You said that the man just now is the son of the chairman of George Group?"
