Chapter 2

Happy rushed to my side, barking furiously with its back arched.

I couldn't understand a word they were saying.

Regardless of any misunderstandings, they had to answer for their actions.

I covered my head and turned to grab my phone to call the police.

Scarlett Bullock hurled the broken bottle at me and shouted, "She's trying to call for help—stop her!"

Immediately, two burly women shoved their way through the crowd and came charging at me. They seized my arms and twisted them painfully.

"Ah!"

My arm felt like it was about to snap.

I cried out in agony.

Scarlett quickly located my phone and, with a fierce motion, smashed it to the ground.

The phone shattered into countless pieces.

I shouted, "Let go of me! You're committing a crime!"

"Committing a crime? We're just dealing with a home-wrecker!"

"In the past, we'd just toss you in a ditch. Who has time to listen to your whining?"

"A shameless mistress who tries to steal Scarlett's man doesn't deserve to wear a wedding dress or get married. Dream on!"

One of the heavier women yanked off my veil, sending a sharp pain through my scalp.

Gritting my teeth, I snapped, "I'm not the one trying to seduce anyone. I'm here to get married today!"

A crowd had already gathered at the door.

Scarlett let out a derisive snort and glanced at the four open suitcases in the room, her face clouded with disdain.

One suitcase contained the expensive jewelry, watches, and confidential documents I brought for my trip abroad.

The other three were filled with my marriage gifts.

It was a collection of precious gemstones, rare artworks, and non-heritage collectibles, including gold bricks for strategic reserves, as well as property and business certificates.

After the wedding, these items were meant to be moved to the house I purchased under Logan's name.

Scarlett's eyes gleamed with fury. "This bitch has really been milking Logan for all he's worth.

"She's not just scamming Logan; she's also encouraged him to dump me. If every woman had such a greedy mistress around, how are we supposed to live?

"For someone who's destroying other people's marriages, do you think I should let her go?"

I could hardly believe my ears.

I thought, "Is it possible that on the same day, in the same hotel, there could be another groom named Logan?"

The odds were astronomically small.

It took me only a moment to realize that the Logan Scarlett was talking about was the same Logan I was supposed to marry today.

"I can't let her get away with this!"

"Taking down a mistress starts with me."

Scarlett had successfully stoked the anger of her entourage.

Every one of them was burning with rage. I suddenly found these people even more terrifying than I had imagined.

Outnumbered and with my phone destroyed, I endured the pain and tried to reason with them.

"Please let me go. There's been a misunderstanding. Logan and I just got married. We're legally married. If you don't believe me, you can call Logan to clear things up..."

Before I could finish, Scarlett kicked me sharply in the knee.

I collapsed to the floor, unable to control myself.

She continued to kick my back mercilessly.

I began to cough violently, wracked with pain.

For a moment, Scarlett's friends looked uncertain.

"You're married to Logan?"

"Scarlett, is this true?"

Scarlett looked up with a haughty expression and gave me another kick.

She said, "She's a complete fraud. Can you trust anything she says?

"You're bold to act so brazenly as a mistress. Logan promised me he'd only marry me. Do you think you're going to get him to help you?

"Sorry, but he's too busy preparing a surprise for me right now."

Scarlett smirked, caressing her belly with a smug expression.

"Let me fill you in on a little secret. I'm pregnant with Logan's child. So, you say you're married? Why isn't he asking you to have his baby?"

She turned to her entourage with a wicked grin. "Since she loves stealing other people's husbands so much, let's give her a surprise she won't forget. First, let's strip off this hideous wedding dress!"

Two burly women pushed me roughly to the ground, their faces lit with a twisted excitement.

"You filthy bitch, in the old days, they'd have stripped you naked and paraded you through the streets."

I struggled weakly, trying to protect myself.

I said, "Scarlett, stop! Don't escalate this. I'm bleeding from my head and need medical attention.

"Want Logan? Fine, I'll give him back to you. I'll divorce him tomorrow. I always keep my word."

But Scarlett only pressed her foot harder into my face, grinding it down mercilessly. "Regretting it now? Too late. Today, you're going to get a lesson you'll remember for the rest of your life.

"Girls, this trash has nothing but a sinful face and a useless mother. Don't be afraid. Keep stripping!"

Her bridesmaids descended on me like a pack of wild animals, tearing at my wedding dress.

When that didn't work, they grabbed scissors and started cutting.

"Logan loves my long hair. Why should she have it? Cut her hair off, and let's see how she attracts men now!"

Happy paced anxiously in front of me, barking at them desperately.

I knew that resisting only fueled their frenzy.

I gritted my teeth and stayed silent as they shredded my wedding dress, leaving me in just my undergarments and a transparent slip.

My head was reduced to uneven patches.

But my surrender didn't make them stop.

Instead, it only seemed to excite them further.

Scarlett's eyes glinted with cruel satisfaction. "Isn't it thrilling to take what others cherish? Today, I'm going to destroy everything you care about!"
