After I Died, My Wife Went Crazy Begging Me to Return
Chapter 3
These days, my heart had become numb as I watched Molly and Bruce flirt with each other.
When Molly was with Bruce, she smiled every day, as if Bruce's every word could make her happy.
I suddenly remembered that she never smiled when she was with me. Even when I tried to make her happy by telling jokes, I only got her cold face and impatience.
I remembered once she was under a lot of work pressure and always felt unhappy. I specially bought two popular stand-up comedy tickets at a high price. She was very happy that time, and I was happy too.
But she took the two tickets and went to see the stand-up comedy with Bruce. Bruce was just her business partner, and I was her husband. Shouldn't she choose to be with me?
Now I realized that it was because I didn't deserve it.
Seeing that I hadn't replied to her messages, Molly had some uneasiness, but more annoyance.
When she found out that my phone was turned off, she got angry and blocked my phone number and WhatsApp.
Then she sent a message to my parents, angrily telling them to scold me.
Only when her anger subsided did she pull my number out of the blacklist and begin to send me non-stop voice threats.
"Justin, if you don't come back alive in three days, we will get divorced. You will never see me again, and don't even think about coming home!"
Molly angrily threw down her phone, then turned around to the room to ask Bruce about his well-being.
I watched her back and felt extremely ironic.
As she wished, I could never go home again.
After Molly finished serving Bruce and picked up the phone that fell on the sofa, she became a little anxious when she saw that I still hadn't replied.
Once upon a time, as long as she mentioned divorce, I would always try to coax her.
Now I had become a soul and was unable to come back to life. Thinking about my whole life, I felt pathetic for myself. I ruined myself for someone who didn't love me, making myself neither human nor ghost.
Falling in love with someone who had no heart was doomed to no good end.
Molly was so confident because I loved her.
She might have never thought about whether I would still love her if I died.
Molly drank a lot because she was in a bad mood.
Bruce noticed that she was unhappy.
"Molly, what's wrong? Has Justin not replied to your message yet?"
I looked at Molly's drunken eyes. Even though she trampled on my feelings casually, I still held a glimmer of hope in my heart.
But Molly didn't answer and continued drinking.
Bruce seemed to sense something and comforted her.
"Justin is probably jealous. Should I call him and explain?"
Molly paused for a moment and then angrily said.
"There is nothing between us and there is nothing to explain, just ignore him."
"The reason why I married him was simply because he said he sold his house at a low price and helped me pay off my parents' debts. But in fact, I have never had any feelings for him all these years!"
Molly's words hit me like a thunderbolt. It turned out that all my efforts over the years were just a moral blackmail in her eyes.
I was like a clown, holding my sincere heart. But in her eyes, I was just a joke.
Bruce suddenly said sadly to her.
"If it weren't for me going to study at a university in another city, you wouldn't have suffered so much."
"Molly, have you been unhappy these years?"
I stood in front of Bruce as a soul, staring into his eyes. It was really ridiculous. Even if he were here, would he be willing to take out half a million dollars to Molly's adoptive parents?
He would only be all talk and no action. Every time we went out to eat and were ready to pay the bill, he either suddenly went to answer the phone, or went to the bathroom to avoid paying the bill.
As if thinking of something, Molly did not give him a positive answer, but said, "I don't know if I'm happy or not."
Bruce seemed to see her hesitation and continued.
"Molly, if I hadn't gone to study at a university in another city, if I had been able to take out half a million dollars at that time, would the person who is now married to you and sleeping by your side be me?"
Molly's eyes immediately turned red, and she replied sadly.
"It's too late to say anything now. I'm already married."
Bruce laughed at himself.
"Yes, what qualifications do I have to think about you? I'm already satisfied to be able to stand by your side as a neighbor brother and partner."
Molly suddenly couldn't suppress her inner emotions any longer and choked as she hugged Bruce.
"Fool, don't say that. You didn't have that much money back then. I'm already satisfied with your sincerity."
I sneered at their conversation. Although Bruce didn't have much ability, he had a wealthy father who was good at doing business. Taking out half a million dollars wasn't a big problem for his family.
I was afraid that only Molly would believe his bullshit.
And Bruce's tone also disgusted me.
"Molly, now I just want to quietly watch you, even if you never look back at me."
What a nice thing to say. Just want to be quiet around her? Then why did he have to come to the company of Molly and me to be her partner?
Never dared to think about her?
Then what was his hand doing now?
I saw Bruce holding Molly, who was sitting on his lap and crying uncontrollably, and his hand kept stroking Molly's back, gradually moving downwards.
"Bruce, what are you doing?" I ran to his side, desperately trying to push him away, but I could only appear as a ghost and couldn't stop Bruce's hand slowly reaching towards my wife!
