After Betrayal, My Revenge
Chapter 1
I had been with my girlfriend for three years. She never allowed me to kiss her lips.
Per her, kissing someone on the lips was unhygienic, and would carry bacteria. I thought she was a neat freak.
One night, I saw with my own eyes that she was kissing her first love passionately at a party. I was shocked, standing still in place.
"It turns out that she isn't a neat freak. The truth is that she dislikes me touching her."
"It's time to end this relationship that I have put so much effort into."
——
It was Tina's birthday today. I entrusted my work to my colleague and bought a ticket back home early this morning.
She had no idea that I had come back from my business trip. I didn't tell her either, intending to surprise her.
I bought her favorite tiramisu cake. Eagerly, I rushed to a private box.
Standing outside the door, I saw my girlfriend, Tina, kissing another man passionately through the glass.
I was shocked, standing still in place, thinking, "It turns out that she isn't a neat freak. The truth is that she dislikes me touching her."
I knew who this man was. It was her first love, Jacob Lee.
"When did he come back? Didn't he leave Tina in poverty back then and go far away?"
Anger blinded me. Possessed by irrationality, I had an urge to rush in and question her. Then I heard her voice.
"I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to chat with you due to the time difference. It's good that you're back."
Jacob raised his hand playfully and flicked her nose. Tina smiled.
I clenched the cake rope. The veins on the back of my hand bulged. I used to flick her nose with my hands.
But she reacted strongly, saying that I wasn't allowed to touch her nose in the future, let alone kiss her lips with my mouth.
Seeing her angry, I suppressed my doubts in my heart. I thought, "Isn't it normal for lovers to do these things?"
I kept coaxing her for a few days, constantly pleasing her by humbling myself. Only then did she smile and let me go.
"A year ago, you said the company was getting better. I wanted to come back then. Something happened. I couldn't leave temporarily."
Jacob reached out and touched her curly hair. Given how intimate they were, they were not like ordinary friends. Instead, they were more like a couple in love.
Tina's friends joined in the teasing, saying, "Tina, why don't you just break up with George Smith? He is no match for Jacob at all. Jacob comes from abroad. He is good-looking and excellently educated. If I were you, I would have thrown myself into his arms long ago."
"Don't talk nonsense. If George, a perennial lickspittle, hears your words, he will get angry with you. Watch out then."
"It is funny. He's on a business trip. Even if he's here, I'm not afraid of him hearing my words. Besides being a little more handsome, he's useless."
"He's so foolish. He doesn't even know how to be romantic. He dedicates himself to work and leaves no time to accompany Tina."
Tina's friends were all teasing me, trying to flatter Jacob.
But Tina didn't care about her friends' mockery of me. In her heart and mind, Jacob in front of her mattered the most.
Just now, I heard their conversation, thinking, "It turns out that they have been secretly in contact for a long time."
"No wonder whenever it is late at night, Tina next to me in bed is nowhere to be seen. I will get up to look for her."
"She will lock herself in the bathroom, saying that she has to attend to some work."
I felt particularly sorry for her, so I put all my energy into her company and shared her burden.
But her friends criticized me for not having time to accompany her. If she hadn't complained to them about me usually, they wouldn't have known this.
