Chapter 1

Tonight was a very special night; it wasn't just a typical Valentine's Day but also my wedding anniversary with Alpha Griffin.

I was so excited that I prepared everything myself. I chose the best location near the hills, where we could see the beautiful scenery of Northwood, especially the bright full moon. I made sure everything was perfect and romantic.

However, my excitement vanished when I received a text from Alpha Griffin: "[I can't go to our date tonight. There's an emergency. I'm very sorry, Pumpkin.]"

After reading it, I looked around the place I'd decorated for six hours. Tears welled up in my eyes; all my efforts seemed wasted, and he'd dismissed me so quickly—not just once, but many times.

Then, another notification popped up. I opened it and was flabbergasted to see a photo of Alpha Griffin kissing my best friend, Beta Iris.

"Emergency, huh?" I mumbled, my hand gripping my phone tightly.

It was ironic that he'd gone to my best friend's birthday party instead of our wedding anniversary. Even more shocking, my in-laws were there in the picture; it seemed they knew about his infidelity but kept it from me.

The person who sent me the picture was Doctor Quincy Wilson, a trusted friend and a known werewolf healer in town who knows about my health condition.

The truth is, I only have four months to live because of blood cancer. That's why I was trying my best to give him all my love while I had a little time left. If he only knew how hard I fought each day just to survive, just to be with him.

Yet, he never checked on me or asked if I was okay and I had no idea he was cheating on me the whole time.

I'd wanted to tell him about my illness, but he was so busy with work and often ignored me, even while answering his calls. I couldn't understand why I was never his priority, why he treated me like a stranger.

It was my fault for forcing myself on him, but I couldn't accept why he cheated with my best friend, Iris. I knew Alpha Griffin was forced to marry me to show his gratitude after they were saved by my father from a wolf attack and that only our pack helped them recover.

Suddenly, I heard thunder, then rain poured down on me. I felt my world spinning, and a warm liquid dripped from my nose. I touched it; my eyes widened to see blood. A lot of blood.

"Not now... please," I whispered, my body trembling. I dropped my phone and couldn't call for help.

In a snap, I lost consciousness and fell to the ground.

When I opened my eyes, I saw a familiar white ceiling, and I knew I was in the hospital.

"Sienna? Are you okay?" I heard a man's voice. My heart hoped it was Alpha Griffin, but I turned to see Quincy, his face etched with worry.

"Y-yeah. I'm okay, Doc," I answered, trying to get up, but he stopped me.

"Just lay down; you need more rest, Sienna. Your condition is very bad, and there's no progress with your treatment," he said, disappointed.

Hearing it made me lose hope. Death was inevitable, and I should accept my fate.

"So I'm dying soon?" I asked flatly.

Quincy hesitated, taking a deep breath while looking at the monitor. "You're not dying, Sienna. I'll do everything to save you." His tone was serious.

Staring at Quincy, I knew he was a good friend, but sometimes I wished he were the man I loved. He's very different from Griffin, who only acted like a caring husband at family gatherings. When we were alone, I was invisible to him.

"I want to die now, Quincy," I said, looking away, fighting back tears. I thought it would be better if I no longer existed, so this suffering would end.

"What? Are you kidding, Sienna? After the treatments you've gone through, and now you're giving up because of that moron?" Quincy approached me, staring into my eyes.

"I have no will to live anymore, Quincy. I'm tired of fighting for my life while he's cheating with my best friend," I sobbed.

Quincy shook his head and held my face. "No, Sienna. You must fight for your life. And there's still a reason to live. I have something that can save you, but it has drastic consequences."

He went to his briefcase and took something out. He showed me a vial filled with a purple liquid.

"What is that?" I asked curiously.

"Sienna, this is a serum that could prolong a werewolf's life when hit by a bullet or any kind of disease," he explained. I realized it's the thing that could change my life forever.

"And what are the drastic consequences?"

Quincy took a step and smiled. "You will have a new identity, and it means Sienna Clark will no longer exist."

I was amused. "Really? Does that mean my old self will vanishand I will become someone else entirely?"

He nodded. "Yes, but your memory remains, you will just have a new face and body—a stronger, better version. I'm giving you a choice, Sienna. While you still have time, think about it."

My heart thudded as I stared at the wedding ring on my finger. Should I fight for my love for Alpha Griffin or take revenge for his betrayal as I'm dying?
