Your Lips Are Like Peach Gummies, I Want to Kiss Them
Chapter 2
The table in the shop was not big. Laurence, who was very tall, and I sat on the same side. We almost touch each other's thighs and arms. Even a piece of paper couldn't be inserted.
He had a pleasant, minty smell on his body, and his body temperature was a little high, which made my heart beat wildly. I couldn't help but move my legs away. But I felt his muscles tighten. Laurence coughed softly.
I looked down at our legs, which were still pressed tightly under the narrow table. I found that there was no room for me to move away. The more I moved, the more we touched. I had to apologize in my heart.
"Hera." Claire, who was sitting opposite me, suddenly whispered, "Today, you said that you are heartbroken. What's going on?"
As soon as she finished speaking, I felt a sharp gaze beside me. I glanced secretly and found that Laurence was staring at me without blinking.
It was only a few seconds. He turned his gaze away and looked at his companion opposite him, who was a boy with dyed grey hair. Laurence said, "Why are you staring at her?"
The boy was stunned with the spoon in his mouth. He didn't dare to point out Laurence's same action as him. He just tried to swallow the ice cream. I watched his face distorted by the cold. Then he apologized to me, "I'm just curious. Sorry."
I smiled at him to show that it was okay. And then I said to Claire, "It's just a joke. Otherwise you won't come out with me."
"So, are you not heartbroken or do you not have a crush on someone?" Laurence's voice came abruptly.
Everyone at the table looked at him in surprise, including me. He looked like a cool guy who didn't care about anything. But I didn't expect that he would gossip about this topic.
He asked seriously, "Which one?"
"Well, I'm not heartbroken."
"Okay." Laurence nodded thoughtfully.
I was a little nervous because of his attitude. The atmosphere was a little subtle. That boy on the other side kept looking back and forth between me and Laurence. Then he started whispering with Claire.
Laurence had been looking down and tapping his phone frantically for a while. I noticed that his expression was becoming more and more serious.
In order to divert my attention, I had to pick up my phone. As soon as I opened WhatsApp, I found Laurence's dialog box at the top of my friend list.
When I clicked on it, I found that the message was flashing on the screen. It turned out that he was madly sending text messages!
Fortunately, I had enabled the Mute Notifications. Otherwise, my phone would ring every time he sent a message. The continuous notification sound would embarrass me.
I held the spoon. While I scooped the ice cream, I secretly glanced at Laurence, who looked gloomy. He was still typing seriously, so I quickly opened the dialog box.
Laurence [You have to seize the opportunity.]
Laurence [Yes.]
What was the matter? I know all the characters. Why couldn't I understand it?
I was confused. I stared at my phone blankly and thought he was so sentimental.
I was lost in thought. I didn't know what Claire and the boy were talking about. The boy got excited and suddenly raised his leg, which happened to hit the table. I was so scared that my hand shook, and I watched the food on the spoon fly away and land on Laurence's pants.
I was in trouble. I quickly took out some napkins and wanted to wipe Laurence's clothes. As soon as I put my hand on it, I realized something was wrong.
The milky white ice cream landed in an awkward spot. It was just below Laurence's stomach. I heard Laurence gasp. His whole body froze.
I gritted my teeth and took the largest piece of ice cream away.
Although the ice cream was wiped off, there was a sticky water stain left.
The troublemaker on the other side said nervously, "Laurence, I'm sorry! How about I wash these pants for you."
Laurence's face darkened. I hurriedly said, "Let me do laundry!"
I realized that it was too intimate to wash the pants, so I immediately changed my words. "I'll compensate you!"
I took out my phone and wanted to pay Laurence. Unexpectedly, Laurence opened the WhatsApp, "Let's follow each other."
But I had been on Laurence’s friend list for a long time. I even read his own messages.
Seeing that I didn't move for a while, he looked at me in disbelief, "Is it inconvenient for you?"
Laurence usually looked very aloof, but there was a hint of grievance in his tone.
I scolded myself hastily. How could such a cool and arrogant guy talk to me in such an aggrieved voice?
Before I could figure out how to respond, Claire secretly patted me and said, "Hera."
She had always known me very well and knew that I liked this kind of man.
Maybe we had been deadlocked for too long. Even that boy noticed something was wrong. He said to Laurence awkwardly, "This is the first time Laurence take the initiative but get rejected."
Laurence didn't say anything; just stared at me expressionlessly and repeated, "Is it inconvenient for you?"
