Whitney's smile froze for a split second before she switched to coaxing me：「Honey, when have I ever shorted you? Once this month's dividends come through, I'll wire it to you right away.」

Quincy was grinning ear to ear, practically glowing with smugness：「My sister's company has been killing it these past two years. She's about to secure funding and go public. Bro, you don't need to act tough. Even without you, our family's still high society.」

「Sis, go open a new bank account and get the whole family set up with cards. We don't even want Mick's card anymore. Even if he begs us to use it, we won't!」

The truth was, without my family backing her from the shadows, Whitney's company would've gone under years ago.
