Who Stole The Healer's Potion? Chapter 1

On the night of the full moon, I quit my job as the pack's lead healer because I was fed up with all the drama. Later, as I headed to the edge of the pack territory for some peace, my phone kept buzzing.

My mate's childhood friend, Sabrina Voss, kept texting me, asking why I hadn’t finished the healing potion I was supposed to be making.

As the cool breeze blew through the trees, I turned off my phone, wanting to enjoy the quiet. But soon, old memories came flooding back.

In my past, the potion I worked so hard on was stolen, and I was accused of treason. They called me a traitor, claiming I had put the pack in danger and didn’t deserve to be a healer.

The pack turned against me, and even my parents were banished because of my supposed betrayal. It was too much to handle. In the end, my mate, Samuel, and his beloved Sabrina had me locked up.

One cold night, under the full moon, I ended my life. But when I opened my eyes again, I found myself back—one month before everything went wrong.

"I don’t need anyone’s permission!"

My voice echoed through the thick forest as I stormed out of the pack’s territory. The full moon was approaching, and I had just quit my job as the pack’s lead healer. The Bloodstone Clan had become overwhelming with endless politics, and I needed a break. My phone buzzed constantly, interrupting my thoughts.

Sabrina Voss, my mate’s so-called best friend, wouldn’t stop texting me. She wanted to know why I hadn’t shown up at the healer meeting or finished the potion I had been working on for days.

I ignored her and took a deep breath of the fresh air that smelled like pine and freedom. But the quiet didn’t last long. Memories of my past life came rushing back.

In my previous life, I had created a powerful healing potion that was supposed to be my biggest achievement. But then it was stolen, and I was accused of treason against the pack. They called me a traitor and claimed I had put my fellow wolves in danger.

I remembered the whispers that followed me everywhere. The pack turned against me. My parents were shamed and exiled because of me, leaving me with no choice but to leave my only home. I wandered alone until I died under the cold light of the full moon. I had ended it all, but when I woke up, I found myself back in the past, a month before everything went wrong.

"Jade, you’re amazing! Once this new healing potion is done, it will change everything for our pack!" My apprentice looked at me with bright eyes. "I’ve never seen anyone as skilled as you. You’re incredible!"

The pack’s alpha, Samuel, praised me. "You have a gift, Jade. The whole pack relies on your skills. Keep this up, and your name will be legendary."

Their words hung heavily in the air, reminding me of what was to come. Tears filled my eyes as I looked at these familiar faces—people who had once been loyal to me before they turned their backs in my past life. Some were exiled, others humiliated. The guilt weighed me down, but the fear of it happening again terrified me even more.

I checked my phone again. Time was running out. I had less than a month before the potion that would ruin everything was supposed to be presented to the council. The memory of that day was still fresh—how the accusations flew and how the pack’s reputation crumbled because of my supposed betrayal.

"You know that wolf, Jade? The one who stole the elixir recipe and claimed it was hers? What a disgrace! She doesn’t deserve to be in our pack!"

"If Jade’s still in this territory, I’ll leave. I’m not risking my life for some traitor!"

"Why hasn’t she been exiled yet? She’s probably in bed with the alpha—that’s the only explanation for why she’s still around!"

Even the pack members I used to heal glared at me like I was a disease. Their hateful words haunted me.

"She stole from Sabrina’s family, I heard. Can you believe that? What a filthy traitor."

"I bet she only got her position by using Alpha Samuel. Everyone knows she’s just a pretty face with no real skills."

The anger and betrayal all started with Sabrina. She was the one who framed me, reporting me to the council for stealing her family’s ancient elixir formula. She wasn’t just a regular wolf—her family was part of a powerful bloodline with strong connections to the pack.

She was perfect—gorgeous, with an air of superiority that drew the males to her like bees to honey. Samuel, my mate, was not immune to her charms. He started paying more attention to her, making excuses to see her, even bringing her food and running with her. It felt like she was replacing me right before my eyes.

One time, after a long night of hunting, I could barely stand. But Samuel kicked me out of the pack house to take Sabrina home, leaving me to walk alone under the full moon. Whenever I confronted him, he accused me of being insecure and jealous, always defending her and never me.

One day, I overheard him laughing with others, calling me weak and saying he wanted to be rid of the burden of being my mate.

Each time I tried to break things off with him, he came back the next day with apologies and sweet words. But I wouldn’t let him do that to me again.

My hands shook as I opened Sabrina’s social media. Her latest post chilled me: "After weeks of hard work, I’m almost done with my elixir!"

She shared a picture of her notes—sections on potion making, specific ingredient combinations… and it was all mine. Every word, every line was from the potion I had spent months perfecting.

What the…?

How could this be? I had been so careful. No one knew the formula but me. There was no way this could be a coincidence.

I quickly pulled up my notes, comparing them to her post. It wasn’t just similar. It was an exact copy. The same process, the same ingredients, even down to the final preparation steps.

Then I noticed the timestamp on her post—one hour before I finalized my notes. My mind raced. Had she been spying on me? Did she have someone leak my research to her?

The accusations from my past life echoed in my mind.

"Jade’s just a thief in wolf’s clothing, a disgrace to our kind."

"How many other wolves have suffered because of her lies?"

"She doesn’t belong in this pack. I hope she’s gone by the next full moon."

My knees shook as the familiar words cut deep, my vision blurring under the weight of it all. I stared at the post, my hands hovering over my notes.

I couldn’t let this happen again. I couldn’t bear the thought of being called a traitor twice. With trembling fingers, I deleted my entire research file.

I could create a new potion from scratch in a month, right? I had to. For my survival, I had no other choice.
