Chapter 2

The bar owner Richard was familiar with me, so I made up a story about losing my bag and had the surveillance footage checked.

It was blurry, but I could see Samuel sitting on a soft couch, drinking heavily.

There was a girl in the crowd, her eyes fixed on Samuel.

Women's intuition is terrifyingly accurate, and I realized instantly that something was off.

As they got more intoxicated, they started playing a truth or dare game.

Unfortunately, the girl lost the game and chose to tell the truth, and the crowd burst into laughter, teasing, "Emily, do you have a crush on someone?"

So she was Emily Allen.

She looked in Samuel's direction, bit her lip, lowered her head shyly, but didn't answer. She picked up her glass and drank it all in one go.

The answer was obvious.

Samuel frowned, and after some teasing from the crowd, they moved on.

He was not bad-looking, and he often worked out, so he had a solid six-pack abs. It's not surprising that someone liked him.

But how could he conceal his love for five years and manage to win me over, everyone knew that.

I fast-forwarded the video.

The pen on the table turned towards Samuel.

He pondered for a moment and said in a faint voice, "Truth."

Jacob, who brought him back, intervened and put a wine glass as a microphone under his chin, "Samuel, tell us the one thing you regret the most."

The dim light shone on Samuel's face, obscure and unclear.

"Well, the thing I regret the most?"

He seemed to have smiled for a moment.

"My biggest regret is taking over a woman played out by her ex."
