When My Son Died of illness, My Husband Cheated On Me
Chapter 4
I packed my luggage and sat quietly in the living room, waiting.
Tracy took out a small white puppy from the cage and handed it to Phil, saying sweetly, "Teddy will be very happy to see the puppy."
Phil glanced at me coldly and smiled indulgently at her, saying, "You are so thoughtful."
I quietly watched the two of them perform.
They considered themselves "thoughtful people", but they were actually so ridiculous. They didn't even know Teddy was allergic to fur.
Tracy took out a bag of dog food, opened it, poured the dog food into the urn on the table, and then put the box in the corner.
"Roxy, come and eat."
When the puppy wagged its tail and walked towards the urn, my world collapsed!
I angrily pounced over, pushed Tracy away, and grabbed the urn on the floor.
There was only a small amount of dog food in the urn. I didn't see Teddy's ashes at all.
Tracy was taken aback and hid behind Phil in panic, asking in a frightened voice, "Phil, is she crazy?"
I shouted at her with tears in my eyes, "Where did you take Teddy?"
Phil looked at me with disgust on his face. "Teddy has always been with you. And you're asking me?"
I held the urn, my chest heaving with anger. "Where are the things inside?"
Phil said lightly, "They're in the trash can at the door."
I panicked and rushed over with tears in my eyes as I picked up Teddy's ashes and carefully put them back into the urn.
Tracy crossed her arms around her chest and said sarcastically, "Shana, I changed the garbage bag this morning. The stuff inside is intact.
"Stop being so melodramatic, OK? I didn't bully you."
I sat down on the floor, holding Teddy's urn, too desperate to make a sound.
The door was knocked, and two funeral home staff came in with a photo frame, a customized urn, and a bouquet of flowers.
"Ms. Byrd?"
"I'm here."
I forced myself to stand up, wiped away my tears, and took the packaged urn and the photo from the staff.
Phil pulled a long face. "Are you deliberately disgusting me by bringing an urn home?"
Tracy pretended to be concerned and said, "Phil, don't be so harsh on Shana. Maybe someone in her family passed away."
Phil said coldly, "Her parents died a long time ago. She doesn't have any relatives!"
Tracy suddenly realized something and exclaimed in horror, "Oh, no! Is the box I used to put the dog food in a temporary urn?"
She worriedly picked up the puppy and tearfully said, "If Roxy eats something dirty, he'll get sick!"
Phil shouted at me angrily, "Shana, bring Teddy back now!
"And then get out of my house together with those things! I don't want bad luck!"
I smiled bitterly and handed the sealed photo in my arms to Phil.
"Phil, since you love Teddy so much, why can't you recognize him when he's right in front of you?"
