When Love Comes Too Late
Chapter 1
That car accident I encountered turned my life upside down and made me lose all the memories I had and kept a man with me.
He was cold and ruthless to others, making them all scared of him, but he was too good to me. He was obedient.
One of the reasons they told me, "Please be careful. Men and Women are different. Please keep that in mind."
However, I only smiled and replied to them calmly, "If things get serious, we'll get married. I never said I was just playing around."
But unexpectedly, that night, Jayden Cooper found me.
In the third year of our marriage, Jayden had an affair with someone. With what he had done, I was quite confused and asked where he placed me.
He reassured me and said, "You are still my Mrs. Cooper. That title will be forever yours, whatever happens. There is still affection left between us."
Since I learned he had some affairs, he wasn't even careful and had become more careless.
Jayden would stay out all night and only come home to see our daughter as if it were a formality.
I've tried everything—crying, making scenes, even threatening to hurt myself—but he just looks at me with disdain, even asking me, "Are you out of your mind?"
One day, he snapped, threw away the knife I was holding and yelled at me to die before storming out and slamming the door shut.
I felt defeated, curled up in pain. I need to save myself from this turmoil.
After being hurt repeatedly, divorce seemed like the only way out.
It also felt like fate had different plans for me and me to take different paths.
When I saw the two lines on the pregnancy test, my hands and body shook like a leaf.
Once again, I halted his car as he was about to leave for the night.
He seemed taken aback by my actions, his voice impatient. Despite the warmth of midsummer, I felt a chilling coldness all over.
I held my stomach. Calmly, I said, "Let's talk. I have something important. Just this once, can you not go to her place..."
In the next few minutes, the car engine already started.
He gave me a cold look and said, "Riley Palmer, don't cause trouble."
