Chapter 3

Stella didn't like me from the first moment she saw me.

At first, I thought she simply didn't like me, so I tried every way to please her, actively showed my kindness to her, and bought her gifts.

But I didn't expect that,

to put the blame on me, she actually killed her beloved little white puppy.

That day she cried heart-wrenchingly while holding the little white puppy covered in blood, and while crying she accused me of why I killed her dog.

She cried so heavily that she couldn't catch her breath and almost suffocated herself.

Seeing this, Zayn, who had just returned home, rushed her to the hospital.

Stella already suffered from congenital heart disease, and after this "blow" from me, her heart condition became even worse.

It was so serious that it required a heart transplant.

And my beloved Zayn firmly believed that her dog was killed by me.

He forced me to apologize to her.

I refused with grievance and went back to the bridal chamber alone stubbornly.

Zayn stayed in the old house to take care of his adopted sister who might die of illness at any time.

When he received a notification from the hospital that there was a suitable heart.

He was even happier than Stella herself.

He thought it was God's blessing.

But he didn't know that Stella had already set her sights on me.

The heart inside his sister was exactly what they had been looking for!

...

After seeing Stella, Zayn immediately got back to the case.

In order to find women who met the age requirements, they had to divide the work and go to the personnel bureaus in various regions to look for women's files.

Zayn pulled out the file and began to check it item by item.

When the mouse moved to the words "Joe Shane", he paused.

Joe Shane was my name.

I couldn't help but feel happy, thinking that he was finally going to find out that the dead person was me.

But after pausing, he continued looking for the next one.

My heart suddenly turned cold.

He probably thought that a woman as scheming as me would never disappear.

Just at this time.

The bureau called him and told him that they had an important clue.

Zayn rushed back to the bureau without saying a word.

A colleague handed him a transparent glass jar tied with a red ribbon with trembling hands, claiming that it had just been delivered by a local courier.

The glass jar was about ten centimeters high and contained a ring-shaped object.

Zayn frowned and looked at it, but did not recognize that it was the wedding ring he had once given away.

On the contrary, the policewoman who had cried red eyes at the crime scene recognized at a glance that the ring was most likely that of the deceased.

That's right.

The jar contained my wedding ring.

When the criminal chopped off my finger and took the ring away, he smiled and said he would give it to Zayn as a gift.

I didn't expect that they would actually do that.

They sent the ring to Zayn and also attached a provocative note: [Officer Louis, do you like this gift we prepared for you?]

When Zayn saw the note, his expression changed instantly!
