When I Found Out Love No Longer Existed

8.1 / 10.0
When rumors spread that Ethan Wellington had suffered amnesia and completely erased me from his mind, I stubbornly refused to accept the devastating news. Determined to seek the truth, I rushed to the hospital. Yet, the painful reality struck me the moment I stood outside his door. Peering in, I witnessed Ethan gazing at his childhood sweetheart with an intense affection that shattered my heart, forcing me to face the cold truth that our love had truly vanished.

When I Found Out Love No Longer Existed Chapter 1

As everyone told me that Ethan Wellington had lost his memory and forgotten about me, I didn't believe it.

However, when I went outside Ethan's hospital room and saw him looking at his childhood sweetheart affectionately, I felt my heart break.

Ethan had always known to keep his distance from other girls before. After he was in a relationship with me, there was never another girl around him. He was humble, courteous and gentle, and he looked at me with affection in his eyes.

Now, the way he looked at me was extremely cold, and the indifference in his eyes made me feel extremely frustrated.

"Who are you?"

My voice sounded hoarse as I lowered my head to hide the loss in my eyes when he asked me so indifferently. "My name is Victoria Wilson, and I'm your friend."

"No way. There's no way I could have a friend like you."

I had just returned from the hill. Upon hearing that he woke up, I stumbled all the way here, and I even fell on my way down the hill. My knees were bloody and numb with pain, and I looked dirty and embarrassed.

I quickly straightened my clothes. Before I could say anything, he added, "I don't know you, and I'd appreciate it if you didn't come back to pester me, as it would upset my fiancée."

"What? Fiancée?"

I looked over in surprise at his childhood sweetheart, Carolyn Blair, who was standing beside him.

Upon seeing my gaze, Carolyn looked at me provocatively and smugly. "Ms. Wilson, I wish you'd stop pestering my fiancé, and you're not welcome here.

"Get out!"

The look in Ethan's eyes was nothing but indifference like ice that would not melt in the snow-capped mountains or a sharp sword.

My sight was blurred by tears and I couldn't see their faces clearly for a moment. The feeling of heartbreak made me feel like I was a fish jumping on the shore, unable to catch my breath, and having to prolong my last gasp.

When I returned from the hospital, I was depressed, and I went to our wedding room in a daze.

The house was designed by Ethan and I, and the putty on the walls proved that we both worked on it. He preferred black while I favored white. He humored me, so the entire interior decoration of the house was in accordance with my preferences.

At that time, when I asked him why he did so, he said, "Because where you are is my home. Wherever you are, I'll be there."

These words were deep in my mind, but the man who said them forgot me.

My friends came to comfort me after hearing about it.

Everyone in Ethan's chat group of close friends was talking about it.

Zachary: [Victoria, Ethan probably hurt his brain in the car accident. Don't worry, he'll remember soon. Don't forget that you are Victoria.]

Noah: [Victoria, Ethan has been sleeping for a month, and he just woke up without a clear head, so don't take it to heart. Remember to let us know if anything happens.]

As they were comforting me, Ethan suddenly invited someone into the chat group.

Carolyn: [Hello, I'm Carolyn.]

She greeted everyone in the chat group, and the chat group, which was still lively just now, instantly fell into silence, with no one talking anymore.

Carolyn didn't seem to be embarrassed, and she even added everyone in the chat group as friends.

I didn't know if they had added her, and the chat group was still silent.

The next second, Ethan sent a warning message.

Ethan: [I don't remember what happened before, and I don't want to remember it. Carolyn is my girlfriend now, and I hope you guys will respect us and stop talking about irrelevant people.]

He treated me, who had been in love with him for five years, as an irrelevant person with just one sentence.

I didn't know when my face filled with warm tears as I held my cell phone and slowly fell to the floor. My eyes were blurred with tears as I helplessly glanced over the wedding room in front of me, familiar yet strange.

Ethan had truly dumped me.
