When I Broke Up With Him, He Regretted it Endlessly
Chapter 3
In the evening, Louis asked me to go out for dinner.
It’s really need to go to the breakup dinner.
As soon as I arrived at the private room, I heard the dog barking. I couldn't help but frown. Did he bring Michelle's dog with him?
It doesn’t matter. Let’s have the farewell dinner and part ways in peace.
As soon as I opened the door, a dog rushed towards me and barked at me.
Seeing the dog was about to bite my leg, I was so scared that I quickly stepped back and accidentally bumped into the waiter who was serving coffee from behind.
Suddenly, there was a sharp pain in my scapula.
My face turned pale instantly, and I also had to avoid the barking dog.
Losing my patience, I picked up the cup and threw it at the dog.
Michelle suddenly screamed, "Cathy, what are you doing!"
Sure enough, the dog became more stressed out and bit my calf hard.
Fortunately, I was wearing long pants today and the dog was a small one, but how could it not hurt when its sharp teeth piercing through my jeans?
When the waiter was about to help me beat the dog, Louis finally came over, hugged the dog in his arms, and gently stroked it to comfort it, "Chicky, don't be afraid, Daddy is here!"
His blaming expression in his eyes were like a sharp sword, piercing my heart.
At that moment, my heart was broken.
"Come in, why are you standing at the door? Chicky won't bite anyone."
Louis was probably blind, he clearly saw the dog biting my leg.
My shoulder was hurting so much that I went into the private room and sat down with a pale face.
"There's no others here, Cathy, you don't have to cover yourself up so tightly. It's all because of your outfit that Chicky was scared and didn't recognize you."
Michelle just said a few words and blamed the dog bite all by me.
The dog seemed to understand her words and whimpered uneasily in Louis's arms.
Louis stroked the dog's head, extremely dissatisfied with my appearance. "Just take them off. Didn't you see Chicky is scared again?"
My heartache flashed away, and I revealed my face without any sadness or joy.
He knew very well why I dressed up like this.
Everyone loves beauty, and even more, I am a public figure. If I go around in public with a disfigured face, I'm afraid he will scold me for damaging the city's appearance.
After the pain in my shoulder eased, I tentatively raised my hands to take off my mask and hat.
Seeing the strange movement of my arm, Louis was puzzled.
"Cathy, why are you being so shy?"
I ignored him.
He didn't feel sorry for my disfigurement, so how could he care about the three nails on my scapula?
To speak it out would only bring shame upon oneself.
When Michelle saw my face clearly, she covered her mouth and gasped.
"Cathy, you are really disfigured!"
Through her fingers, I saw the corners of her mouth turned up.
It was really a smug smile.
"I'm sorry, it's all because of these two dogs were hurt. Otherwise, Louis would definitely think of you first."
As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes.
Although it was tears of excitement, Louis thought she was feeling sad about my misfortune.
He held Chicky in one hand and took a tissue with the other hand to wipe Michelle's tears:
"It's not your or the dogs' fault. Cathy overtook the car and ran ahead without saying a word. She's lucky to be alive."
Michelle cried even harder. "Cathy is an actress. How can she compare with us? If she is disfigured, won't that mean she will ruin the rest of her life?"
She just wanted me to know that I was not worthy of competing with her for Louis because of my disfigurement.
Louis felt so distressed that he wanted to hug Michelle and comfort her, but because I was there, he did not cross the line.
Michelle cried for a while, but when she saw that I didn't even look at her, she stopped crying and looked at me with sympathy.
"Cathy, your face is injured like this, it must be very painful and hard to accept, right?"
Looking at her pitiful face, those who didn't know would think that it was she that had met with misfortune.
I really wanted to throw a cup of hot coffee on her face like I always did.
It would be best if her face was also burned and disfigured, so she would know how painful it is.
If she and Louis hadn't been flirting unscrupulously in front of me, I wouldn't have thought of overtaking to avoid seeing both of them.
After the ground collapsed, I called Louis for help for many times.
However, he was only concerned rescuing Michelle and the two dogs from the passenger seat.
For a moment, I saw Louis stop and look at me.
However, his attention was drawn to the dogs' shrill barking.
I saw everything with my own eyes that he hugged Michelle, and they each held a dog and quickly ran to a safe area to wait for rescue.
Explosions were going on everywhere, but he never thought of calling me.
When I thought I was going to die, the rescue team saved me in time.
Just after I was rescued, the place where my car was located collapsed again due to the explosion, and the car was crushed into a block of iron.
"How could it not hurt? Fortunately, I was rescued in time, otherwise I would have died on the spot."
I pointed at the car being salvaged in the news and sighed how lucky I was.
Following my hand, Louis saw clearly the license plate of the car on TV.
It's my license plate.
The car was as flat as it could be.
If I were in there, I would have become a meat pie as well.
He finally stopped touching the dog, and he stammered and apologized to me,
"Cathy, I'm sorry, I faintly heard you calling for help, I thought it was an illusion..."
