Chapter 2

At this time, several young police officers who were at the door came in with deliveries.

After the autopsy results came out, the defense line was removed.

A guy walked up to Henry with a package with his name on it.

"Mr. Xander, your delivery."

Daniel looked over warily and saw my name written as the sender on the box.

He breathed a sigh of relief and patted Henry on the shoulder.

"Yvette is thoughtful. You haven't been home for three days, right?"

Henry obviously also saw my name on the package.

His already gloomy face was instantly becoming angry.

"So annoying! Don't I know to go home? Sending me package after I blocked her number. Is she going to write a letter next time?"

It was the first time they saw him mad, and the young men who were delivering the packages stepped back and didn't dare to move.

"Next time you see this name, just throw it away and don't tell me!"

Henry threw the box hard into the trash can.

But Daniel reached out and intercepted it in mid-air.

Henry's phone rang at this moment.

The moment he picked up the phone and saw the caller ID, his expression softened.

"What's wrong, Xena? Is there something wrong?"

Henry rubbed his tired eyes and his face just blocked the name on the screen.

But I still guessed it.

Xena Simpson.

His first love.

Who was also the hostage he rescued in the major case a month ago.

Maybe he was the only one who thought so.

The impatience and irritability in his tone instantly disappeared, as if he had suddenly become a different person. And there was a tenderness in his eyes that I had never seen before.

"Did you see her send a package? Yeah, I received it. Okay, I'll open it now."

Henry continued to remind her to eat and sleep on time.

Saying that she had just healed from her wound and was still weak.

After hanging up the phone, he reached out to Daniel.

The package was returned to him. Thanks to Xena, this package with my name on it was not sent by me.

Finally it was about to be opened.

Daniel saw his expression and opened his mouth trying to persuade him, but in the end, he said nothing.

My heart, which had been broken a month ago, sank deeper and deeper.

He would rather believe that vicious devil than listen to my testimony.

The thing in the box were wrapped in layers.

But the sticky and smelly liquid outside looked very much like blood.

The moment Henry saw what was inside, his pupils dilated instantly.

There were sounds of people gasping for air around.

The next second, the package was thrown back into the trash can with great force.

The sound of ceramic breaking was particularly clear in the current environment.

Henry was so angry that his chest heaved violently and he breathed heavily.

Daniel frowned and looked embarrassed.

But he still reached out and patted Henry's shoulder.

"Go home and have a look. You really haven't been home for a long time. Maybe Yvette just misses you."

Henry's brows were tightly knitted together and his lips were almost pressed into a straight line.

He smashed the pen he had just used to write the report on the table with force, making a loud noise.

"She's a psycho now! I'm not going home, I'm investigating a case, it's not like I'm cheating!"

His eyes widened, stared at Daniel and said, "Daniel, I treat you as my own brother. Tell me, have I cheated on her these past few days? Who is she threatening?"

Looking at his angry and ferocious face, I felt sad.

Daniel was still trying to comfort him. "It's just a ceramic doll, it's okay. I guess Yvette is a novice and didn't do it well."

The corners of my lips curled up into a bitter smile. By the time the ceramic doll was finished, I had already been a cold corpse.

Henry had a sinister smile on his face, full of sarcasm.

"How can I expect someone who didn't even care about her own father's life to love my child after she gets pregnant?

"She's not even a human being, how can she be a mother? I was just taking care of the rescued hostage, and she's been putting on an act for me all day long!

"For such a disgusting person, even if she became a hostage and died in front of me one day, I would not want to see her!"

He was so angry that he closed his eyes.
