Wedding Anniversary is My Death Anniversary

I approached gently and heard my mother-in-law's anxious and worried voice.

"Jayden, is Karina with you? Why can't I contact her?"

"I was planning to spend your anniversary with her last night. I knew you were busy with work, but I fell asleep on the sofa and she didn't reply to my message."

"I have been with her for the past few years, and she has never gone missing. Could something happen to her?"

After my parents passed away, my mother-in-law, Renata Yeremia became the person who cared about me the most in the world.

She watched me grow up and knew me best.

After the incident, she did not believe any comments and stood firmly by my side to protect me.

If it were not for her persistence, Jayden probably would not have married me.

She had been by my side every time we were together after my marriage with her son.

"Mom, she caused you to lose your husband and your only friend. Don't you hate her?"

Renata was accustomed to the words he used to chastise me.

She just responded calmly and convincingly, "So many years have passed and what happened back then was definitely not what you saw on the surface. Karina is not that kind of person."

"Mr. Moereman entrusted her to you before he died. We are her only support. She hasn't replied to my message yet. Maybe she's just secretly feeling sad alone. Can't you just let go of the past and your hatred?"

Jayden's face turned red with anger, and he yelled at the phone.

"You've gotten over it, but I can't! I can never forgive her! Marrying her is already my limit! If she had died with everyone back then, I would still remember her goodness, but unfortunately she survived alone."

"When I see her face, I can think of the scene of my dad's tragic death. Don't come to me about her anymore! It would be best if she died outside!"

Renata did not call again.

The screen cracked.
