I changed into a black dress and went alone to the Mckay's house.

Today, the banquet was full of elites from various fields, including some big names usually only seen on television.

Edgar's mother, Karly Huerta was surrounded by people. Edgar and Carina flanked her on either side, basking in the guests' praise happily.

"Karly, you are truly blessed! A grandson and a granddaughter, one at Harvard University and the other at Stanford University. I am so envious. If my child were half as outstanding, I would be overjoyed."

"Twins, of course, are heaven's blessing. These two kids have taken after their father's intelligence. They are smart and capable, but it is a pity their health is as poor as their mother's."

Carina added, "It is all Adrianna's fault. She spends her days cooped up in the lab; she must have caught some virus and passed it on to the children."

"Do not bring her up!" Karly clutched Carina's hand with a face full of regret.

"If only Edgary had married you back then. Those poor children... What have they become under Adrianna's influence? So young, yet full of lies and rude words. Thank goodness Edgary's genes are strong and that you have been there to guide them, or they would never have gotten into such prestigious universities."

For a moment, my heart broke.

When the Mckay family learned of the twins' illness, they left without hesitation.

For years, they ignored the children.

I juggled drug research with caring for two sick children, and I did not sleep more than five hours a night. My friends feared I would die from exhaustion.

For their sake, I bit the bullet and persevered.

Finally, Osvaldo and Shania got better and they got into their dream schools.

I was so close, just a little closer, and I could have seen them achieve their dreams...

Tears welled up in my eyes, but before they could fall, I met Edgar's cold gaze.

"Are you trying to disgrace the Mckay family on such a happy day by dressing like that? Where are Osvaldo and Shania? They cannot be allowed to be as unruly as you."

He lowered his voice, laced with threats.

I smirked sarcastically. "Edgar, if it were not for your publicity stunt, would you even remember you had children?"

My voice was loud and firm.

It caught the attention of the guests around us.

"Adrianna!"

Edgar's handsome face twisted with anger.

"You abandoned those children because of their weak health. You ignored them for years, even mocking them behind their backs, saying the sooner they died, the better. And now you dare claim credit for their accomplishments? Their success has nothing to do with you or your family!"

"Shut up!" Edgar was furious but held back because of the crowd.

In the past, whenever Edgar got angry, I would be the first to apologize, though he was the wrong one.

But today, I did not flinch. I held his gaze fearlessly.

Carina seized the moment to add fuel to the fire.

"You're taking advantage of your children as tools to threaten your husband. Osvaldo and Shania must have suffered so much under your care."

Karly's expression darkened at her words.

"You! You have already harmed my son, and now you want to harm my grandchildren. Get those kids here now. They are high-class people and need to learn manners from Carina during their break, so they won't embarrass us like you."

Teach them manners? My heart was already shattered, yet they continued to hurt me.

To gain the Mckay family's approval, my children had suffered a lot since childhood.

They could not laugh or play as they pleased as kids, nor could they enjoy games and phones as they grew older.

When they learned Edgar would attend their parent-teacher meetings, they were too excited to sleep, believing their hard work had finally earned their father's approval.

Even when Edgar made them reflect on their actions in the stifling heat of the car, they obediently obeyed, losing their lives because of it...

I held back my grief and said sharply, "What? Should they learn how to be a mistress or how to raise one?"

"Adrianna!"

"You want to use my children for your show? Fine, I will give you what you want."

I pulled out the urns, raising them high in front of the shocked crowd, in the flashing lights of the media.

"Edgar, for the sake of his mistress Carina, killed his children on the day their exam results were announced!"
