Waiting for the Right Love
Chapter 3
Hearing this, Zoey finally realized that I was angry.
I always compromised with her, but today we switched roles.
She just couldn’t get used to it. She still had a smile on her face, but as she stepped on the wine box, her foot suddenly hit the ground.
Seeing that I was about to leave, she got up and grabbed me.
"What do you mean? Are we breaking up? Can you stop being so unreasonable?"
I pulled out my arm and looked into her eyes.
"Hey, I gotta be real with you, Zoey. let’s break up. I don’t care if you want to kiss anyone else."
She was a little puzzled and tried to save her face.
"Just because I’m sitting with Brandon to watch a movie? You’re so clingy."
I picked up the car keys on the table and was about to leave.
Zoey panicked and ran up to stop me.
"You’re not even a man, always so jealous. If you come begging tomorrow, I’ll just ignore you."
I pushed her away and responded to her.
"Okay, don’t forget to swing by and grab your stuff."
I didn’t look at Zoey’s current expression.
I was also not determined to leave a person who I had cherished for five years.
I really didn’t want to let go of her.
I knew that she was in love with someone else, but I couldn’t help feeling regretful for having wasted so much time on her.
I couldn’t have my own hobbies when I was with her. I couldn’t even have my own time and friends.
I had to flatter her even in front of my parents.
My mom must be extremely disappointed in me.
After all, I used to be her pride and joy because of my decent job.
When I got home, I drank all night.
I looked at the pile of gifts I bought for Zoey in the house.
I was confused about why I couldn’t win her heart.
I used the excuse of being drunk to call her.
I wanted to give her another chance. If she could coax me like I used to, I would propose to her.
The phone rang for a long time, and Brandon answered it.
Zoey never saved my phone number because I was the only one who would call her.
Brandon picked up the phone and said hello. Seeing that no one responded, he hung up the phone.
I gave myself two tight slaps. I was such a buffoon.
The class reunion was scheduled the next day. and I knew for sure that I’d see Zoey again.
I tidied myself up and went to the meeting.
Since we had broken up, I should be frank and put an end to my youthful days.
Zoey had come with Brandon when the time was up.
Seeing that I was present, she was stunned for a moment and then resumed her posture.
Pretending not to see me.
Seeing this, all my classmates were talking about it in private. I could tell that the idea of me being cheated on was really stuck in their heads.
They chose a seat next to me and sat down.
Zoey’s arrogant look suggested that she believed I, a simp, had pursued her all the way here.
Everyone started making small talk. Zoey couldn’t help but whisper into my ear.
"Why are you here? Are you regretting it? Are you here to pray for forgiveness?"
I tidied up my collar and leaned against my seat to listen to everyone’s greetings.
Some classmates were curious about the situation.
"I remember that Zoey was in a relationship with William. When she they break up with him and get back together with Brandon?"
The class reunion was nothing more than a gathering for gossip and competition.
If I hadn’t agreed to come, I wouldn’t have been here today.
I unbuttoned my shirt and loosened my grip.
"We just broke up yesterday."
These words thoroughly infuriated Zoey.
"William, what do you mean? Are you here to humiliate me? I’ll completely ignore you if you keep doing this."
Brandon has sure seen a whole lot. He pulled Zoey aside and made a joke to change the topic.
He moved closer to me and smiled cheekily.
"I’m not trying to steal your girlfriend, man. Just messing around. No need to get so serious."
Seeing me clenching my fists, he was even more pleased.
"To be honest, I know exactly how Zoey likes to kiss and what kind of postures she prefers. How about we share some tips?"
Brandon started cussing at Zoey, and I got so mad that I grabbed the dishes from the table and plopped them on his head.
Zoey saw that I had beaten up Brandon.
She screamed to protect him and didn’t forget to scold me.
"Are you crazy, William? I had no idea you were the type to throw punches."
The scene became lively, and several classmates were pointing and whispering.
Looking at the two of them hugging each other, I sighed with emotion.
The truth was that nine years of my youth had gone to waste.
Zoey glared at me.
"William, you’ve gone too far. Let’s break up. I’ll move into Brandon’s house today. I’m done with your stuff."
I took a few deep breaths, took out a condom from my pocket, and handed it to her.
"Take it. You probably didn’t have time to buy it last night."
