Chapter 4

A month later, my parents and Logan finally returned home, but their arrival was clouded by business commitments that kept them busy.

They had promised to come to see me, but instead, they called to apologize, acknowledging how hectic things had gotten.

Over the phone, my parents expressed their gratitude to Belinda, saying they planned to negotiate the next deal with her family.

I gritted my teeth, listening to Belinda's greedy laughter, wishing I could just tear her mouth apart.

But I was at a loss; I wanted to call my parents and Logan privately, but I feared they might be listening in.

So I had to endure the fact that those two lovebirds flaunted their relationship in front of me, all while I pretended to be blissfully clueless.

This morning, everything changed. I woke up to find I could see again.

I forced myself to suppress the joy bubbling inside me, quickly glancing around to ensure no one was watching before I dashed to the window.

The view was stunning. I could hardly believe how vibrant the world looked now!

Then, I switched gears.

I wasn't about to let them know about my restored sight. I carried on pretending to be blind.

"Where'd they run off to?" I muttered to myself, frowning as I didn't find a soul while wandering the house.

This was my home, yet I felt like a thief sneaking through someone else's territory.

Anxious about the elevator dinging, I opted to climb the stairs from the first to the sixth floor, one painstaking step at a time, on a mission to locate the two of them.

As I reached the rooftop door, Belinda's sultry voice broke through the silence, obnoxiously sweet like a canary.

It was infuriating.

So much for my effort to scale six flights!

I glared at their naked bodies, feeling utterly disgusted.

They had no clue I was lurking nearby!

"Belinda, what are you worried about? She's down on the first floor, oblivious! Without us, she can't even make it to the sixth!"

True, I had been powerless before.

But now that I could see, it was game over for them.

I slowly pulled out my phone, opening a live stream in the family chat.

I thought disdainfully, "With the sky as their blanket and the ground as their bed, these two are as good as livestock!

What good is their status as 'Best Actor' and 'socialite' when they are nothing but slaves to their desires?"

Once I made the recording, I uploaded it to a cloud drive.

The family group chat was silent for what felt like ages until Logan finally chimed in, sparking a flurry of discussions.

Then he messaged me privately: [I'm on my way to get you. Pack your things, lock the safe, and get ready for your divorce tomorrow. Got it?]

I sprang into action, tidying up.

With my family back in town, I wasn't facing this alone anymore.

When Logan arrived, those two still hadn't let up.

They were tangled in their sex on the rooftop again.

As I wheeled my suitcase out of the villa, carrying Vincent's financial documents, they remained blissfully unaware.

I couldn't imagine how wild could they be!

Logan said, "Get in the car first. I've called some paparazzi to snap a few shots. Once the divorce is finalized, I'll make sure this material is out."

His tone was steeped in frustration. It was clear Logan was furious.

He'd never thought much of my relationship with Vincent.

I remembered how, when we were dating, he had insisted on a prenup.

Vincent, although visibly irritated back then, had weirdly agreed, giving in to the request.

I'd thought it was a sign of love; now I realized it was just a calculated move for future gains.

As I sat in Logan's Maybach, tears welled up in my eyes as everything sank in. In an instant, I threw myself into his arms, feeling safe for the first time in a long while.

Logan gently patted my back, fully aware of my pain. He felt it, too.

As we stepped through the door, my parents stood there, faces as pale as ghosts. I couldn't tell how long they'd been waiting.

I felt my emotions boil over, pouting before bursting into tears.

Ever since I was little, they had cradled me in their arms like a precious gem; I had never faced anything like this before.

I stumbled into my mother, Diana Ridley's embrace, burying my face in her warmth as I let the tears flow.

My dad, Ryan Ridley, wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close.

I sobbed, my voice breaking, "I might've been blind, but my ears were wide open! How could they do something like that right in front of me?!

"In the days you were away, I tried to get in touch, but I was terrified Vincent was watching me, and all I could do was hold it in...

"I almost didn't get to see you again! He nearly pushed me off the balcony just to test me!

"Why would they do this to me? I thought they were friend and husband, yet they betrayed me... It hurts so much..."

While I couldn't see the pity on my parents' faces, I could feel their breaths grow heavier with concern.

"Sweetheart, don't cry. How could they dare treat you like this? Do they think we're nothing?" Ryan's voice trembled with anger.

Logan, infuriated by my words, stormed out of the room.

I had no idea who he was calling, but when he returned, he placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder.

"Amy, don't be sad. I'll make sure Vincent and Belinda pay for what they've done!"
