Used for a Cure, Gone for Good

At that time, I never thought about being a DINK. I just wanted to have a baby because I was with him every day.

Soon, I became pregnant.

After hearing the good news, Marlon was so excited that he almost cried.

“But my parents said that the first child should have my last name and we can decide on the second and third children. Marlon, how many children do you think we should have?”

“But you are the only son in your family. Marlon, I want to have a child with you. I am not afraid of this little hardship.”

But Marlon said that I had given him too much and having me in his life was enough.

To show his loyalty, he went to the hospital to get a vasectomy that day.

As if this was not enough, he took the initiative to take safety measures every time since then.

What I did not expect was that even Marlon’s parents agreed with our decision.

After I was discharged from the hospital, they never mentioned anything about continuing the family line.

They even sent a dog for Marlon and I to raise as a child.

I naively thought that this was all Marlon's effort behind the scenes.

I did not understand until I heard my mother-in-law swearing just then.

It turned out Marlon was not against having a child—he just did not want one with me. Since being helped by his father-in-law was a thorn in his heart.

It would be an even greater shame for him to have our first child follow his wife's family lead.

He had already arranged everything for his life. I would help him rise to the top and become successful. Another woman would bear children for him and cook for him.
