Betrayed by My Fiancé & Half‑Sister, My Twins Ruin Their Wedding Chapter 1
In a private room of a karaoke bar in Manchester, Elsie Wilson tugged at her collar, her throat bone-dry and her skin burning. Her usually composed face was flushed pink, and her gaze drifted in and out of focus. Her eyes locked on the drinks on the table, and her brow furrowed slightly.
She didn’t have much experience with this kind of thing, but even she knew she’d been drugged. When the door creaked open and she saw who walked in, a flicker of hope lit inside her.
“Alice, get me out of here,” she pleaded, her voice thin and frayed with desperation.
Elsie grabbed her bag and tried to push herself up, but her legs felt like dead weight. She dropped back onto the sofa as dizziness crashed over her, the drug sinking its claws in.
Alice Patel stood over her, a sinister smile playing across her red lips. “Take you away? Oh, I’m going to take you somewhere—just not the way you think.”
She turned toward the door. “Hurry up, before Mr. Green loses his patience!”
A burly man stepped in. As his shadow fell over her, Elsie bit down hard on the inside of her cheek, using the sharp pain to drag herself back into focus. Her eyes went wary.
“Alice, what the hell are you talking about? Who’s Mr. Green?”
“Mr. Green from Echo Entertainment—he’s had his eye on you for a while,” Alice said, her voice cold and mocking.
The drug was fogging her brain, but the implication hit her in slow, sick pieces. Her pupils shrank. Disbelief washed over her.
“You drugged me? Why? We’re supposed to be friends! How could you—”
“Friend?” Alice cut her off, her voice razor-sharp with jealousy. “Do you really think you’re worthy? Do you think I approached you just because our mothers were best friends? Ha!”
“You have no idea that everything you have should have been mine—mine!” Alice’s voice climbed into a shrill, ugly pitch, her face twisting with envy.
“Get her out of here!” she snapped.
The man hauled Elsie over his shoulder and headed for the exit. She thrashed wildly, but it was useless against his brute strength.
In the suite, he dumped her onto the bed. Her head spun harder. Before she could react, her limbs were bound.
“Let me go!” she cried, but her struggle was weak, her voice barely more than a whisper.
“Mr. Green will be here soon.” Alice’s laugh was pure venom. “Struggle all you want—it’ll only turn him on more. After tonight, your sex tape will be trending all over the entertainment news tomorrow. Forget being the innocent darling or the daughter of a respectable family—everyone will despise you as a slut!”
With a cold little laugh, Alice and her accomplice walked out. Sometime later, the elevator doors slid open and a tall man with a model’s build stepped out.
Royal Wells wore a tailored suit that made him look untouchable, but his steps were unsteady, and his usually composed face was flushed.
He gripped his phone, listening to the call. “Mr. Wells, everything’s arranged. Go to the suite. I’ll be there soon—hang tight,” Houston Arnold urged, anxiety bleeding through his voice.
“Find out who’s behind this,” Royal commanded, his voice a low, chilling growl. Someone was clearly trying to shove a woman into his life with a cheap trick.
“Yes, sir,” Houston replied.
After hanging up, Royal swiped his keycard and entered the suite. The scent inside made the drug in his system burn hotter. Just as his hand found the light switch, he heard a soft voice from the bedroom.
Royal stepped in. Moonlight spilled over the bound girl on the bed. His eyes darkened.
Elsie sensed someone coming. She clung to the last ragged shreds of consciousness and forced out a warning. “Let me go. I’m warning you—I—”
“Enough.” Before she could finish, Royal kissed her, swallowing the rest of her words.
When Houston and his team arrived at the hotel, the sounds coming from inside the suite stopped them cold. It took them half a second to understand. They backed out fast.
“Why’d you bring me here if there’s already someone else?” one of the hired escorts complained.
Houston handed her a thick envelope, his expression grim. “You were never here tonight.”
The girl took it and left, hips swaying as she disappeared down the hall.
Houston stood guard outside the suite, making sure no one disturbed them. Not long after, a drunk Mr. Green was helped out of the elevator.
He’d planned to enjoy the night, but the sight of Houston sobered him up fast. “Assistant Arnold. What a surprise.”
Houston’s voice was cool. “Mr. Wells is resting.”
Mr. Green’s face froze for a beat. His eyes flicked to the suite number. “Is Mr. Wells inside?”
“If you’re here on business, make an appointment,” Houston said, already steering him back toward the elevator.
Mr. Green hesitated. According to Alice’s call, Elsie Wilson was supposed to be inside. This was a complication.
Under Houston’s stern stare, Mr. Green plastered on a sycophantic smile and hurried away.
Alice was furious when she learned Royal had gotten involved. His unexpected presence had wrecked their original plan. But the plot was already in motion—backing out wasn’t an option—and the next steps were too important to abandon.
The scandalous video that was supposed to drop the next day went up that night instead. With a little help from bots, it started trending fast. Elsie had no idea about the storm brewing outside. Inside the suite, she was still lost in a fog.
The next day, sunlight streamed through the tall windows. Elsie stirred slowly, the warm glow on her face pulling her out of sleep. The moment she tried to sit up, a wave of soreness slammed her back onto the bed.
She saw the bruises and marks on her skin. Humiliation and anger surged through her. Her gaze cut to the thick envelope on the nightstand, and she clenched her jaw.
She wouldn’t let this be swept under the rug. She wouldn’t let her dignity be stolen like this.
Determined, Elsie dressed and left the hotel, hailing a cab straight home. She had done Alice and her mother a kindness by letting them stay. This was how they repaid her—with betrayal.
She stepped out of the taxi and hurried inside, ignoring how the pain made her steps awkward. Suddenly, a shadow fell over her.
Something dropped from above and hit the ground in front of her with a sickening thud.
Elsie froze. She looked down. Her mind went blank.
Her mother lay in a spreading pool of blood, her eyes wide open. The sight knocked the breath out of her.
Screams erupted from the maids nearby.
Elsie felt like her soul had left her body. She couldn’t comprehend the bloody scene in front of her.
“Mom...”
When she finally came back to herself, she rushed to her mother’s side and gathered her close, trembling uncontrollably.
“Mom, don’t leave me. Please!”
Her mother didn’t move. Didn’t answer.
“You dare show your face here?” Her father shoved Elsie aside and pulled her mother into his arms, his eyes red with grief. Elsie’s head struck a nearby stone, and blood immediately poured from her forehead.
“She was driven to this because of you!” His anger spilled over. He turned on the staff. “Get her out! From now on, she is no longer part of this family!”
