Time washes away the dross

Looking at Gerald's extremely expectant eyes, I took a bite of the sandwich.

"I'm very tired recently. Let's leave the opportunity to the newcomers."

Gerald seemed relieved. He chuckled and squeezed my hand. "Okay, then you have to rest at home. When you want to film, I will arrange a better one for you."

After dinner, I was reading in the study. I closed my eyes and rested when I was tired.

"Lucy?" Gerald called me tentatively. Seeing that I fell asleep, he took a nap blanket to help me cover myself.

The footsteps faded away and soon Gerald's deliberately low voice came from downstairs.

"Yes, give the female lead role to Lolly. This movie was originally made for her. Is she in a bad mood again?"

Gerald sighed helplessly, but chuckled, "Tell her to wait a little longer. I'll take time to accompany her tonight. Also--"

Gerald paused, "Remember to let her wear the newly bought maid outfit."

I suddenly opened my eyes and my heart felt like it was being tightly grasped by someone and it hurt so much that it was bleeding.

At night, after Gerald finished making dinner, a phone call suddenly came.

Gerald frowned slightly and hung up.

Soon the ringing sounded again.

I said lightly, "Why don't you answer it? What if they have something important to talk to you about?"

Gerald helped me push the dining chair away and chuckled, "It's the company assistant who called. There must be a lot of things waiting for me to deal with. Next time I criticize him, he will not allow me to call and disturb me and my wife when I'm at home."

He kissed my face tenderly and then picked up the phone that kept ringing.

"Okay, I'll be there right away." Gerald hung up the phone and looked at me with an embarrassed look.

"Baby, can you eat dinner by yourself? There's an emergency at the company and I have to go deal with it."

I nodded, "It's okay, go ahead."

Gerald smiled with relief and he picked up his coat and put it on. "Lucy, just put the dishes aside after dinner and wait for me to come back to clean them up. Don't stay up late to watch TV series. If I come back late, you have go to bed early."

Gerald ran several entertainment companies under his command and has several capable people, so he was usually not very busy. But occasionally, when something needed to be decided, Gerald would be called back.

But thinking of the phone call that Gerald deliberately lowered his voice during the day, looking at his hurriedly leaving figure, my heart was blocked.

As soon as he left, I put on my coat and followed him. While he was in the garage, I took a car and parked it at the door.

The moment Gerald's car drove out, I whispered to the driver, "Sir, please follow the car in front."

Gerald's car really went around and into the company, but he just stopped and soon a girl trotted towards his car.

"My dear Gerald!" The girl smiled sweetly, wearing a tank top and a miniskirt. When the cold wind blew, she hugged her arms and shivered.

"Why don't you wear more? What if you catch a cold?"

Gerald got out of the car, took off his coat without hesitation and skillfully put it on the girl's shoulders.

Lolly looked up at him with a smile and took the initiative to tiptoe and kissed his lips.

"I was so anxious to see you that I forgot to take my coat. I knew Gerald would never let me get cold!"

As she said that, her hand was dishonest and reached into the inside of Gerald's clothes. Gerald smiled dotingly, grabbed her restless little hand and domineeringly pressed the back of her head and kissed her.

I froze in place, tears welling up in my eyes.
