Chapter 3

My stomach problem was not serious and I was discharged from the hospital soon after waking up.
Ryan was very dedicated and personally drove me back.
He said with a smile, "My person cannot lack in grandeur!"
Looking at the flashy sports car parked outside the hospital, I was speechless.
Then, when the car crawled along the road at a speed of 30 miles per hour, I was even more speechless.
I quietly asked the system, "He must be very poor, right? He can't even afford to put gas in his sports car."
The system said nothing.
Although it didn't say anything, I felt like it rolled its eyes at me.
If we went on like this, I didn't know when we would arrive.
I thought for a moment and pulled out my phone. "Let's exchange WhatsApp."
Ryan looked at me and casually threw his phone at me, "The password is 0731. Do it yourself."
I was surprised that he told me the password so easily.
And this number...
"Oh, what a coincidence! My birthday is also on July 31st."
Ryan didn't respond.
I felt a bit embarrassed and quickly lowered my head to fiddle with his phone.
After adding him as a friend, I transferred him 100 dollars.
My move caught his attention. "What are you doing?"
"Thank you for driving me back. I have transferred some money for gas. You don't have to be stingy with it. If it's not enough, I'll top it up for you... Ah!"
Before I could finish speaking, Ryan suddenly slammed on the brakes.
Fortunately, the seatbelt held me back, otherwise I would have probably flown out of the car.
Gasping for breath with a look of shock, I heard Ryan's teeth clenching as he said, "Amelia, you really are..."
I subconsciously turned my head to look at him and saw that his face was dark. I felt very nervous in my heart. "I'm sorry. Did I do something wrong to make you unhappy?"
Just after I said that, Ryan, who had a stern face a second ago, suddenly became at a loss.
Stuttering for a while, he finally managed to say, "Nothing."
When he restarted the car, I noticed that it was definitely faster.
I knew that money really does move mountains!
But thinking about my own savings, I couldn't help but sigh.
It seemed I had to find another part-time job.

When I returned to the Jones family, I ran into Austin again, as expected.
His face looked rather pale.
I nodded to him and was about to go back to my room when he suddenly grabbed my wrist.
"Did you see Ryan last night?
"You know how I feel about him, yet you still went to see him.
"Amelia, are you crazy!"
His temper came out of nowhere.
I frowned and tried to shake off his hand, but failed.
Taking a deep breath, I looked at him calmly, "Whatever conflicts you have with him, that's your business. It has nothing to do with me.
"The same goes for what's between us, it's none of your business to meddle.
"Austin, you've crossed the line."
Upon hearing that, Austin looked as if he had been hit by something, his face turning pale instantly.
He mumbled something and hesitated before he finally spoke.
Just then, a footstep sound was heard.
I glanced to the side and saw Mrs. Jones.
She was standing in the corner, her eyes slowly moving down from our faces to our intertwined hands.
Her eyes narrowed.
My heart tightened at that moment.
"Amelia, come to the study with me."
"Okay."
I nodded and reminded Austin in a low voice, "Let go of me."
