Chapter 6

As I walked into the courtroom, the echoing sound of my black, thick, suede shoes clicking against the tiled floor reverberated throughout the space. I was aware of the way in which I captured the attention of each and every person. I kept my strength, height, and an intimidating posture while I observed the people who were in the room. Dad and Beatrice are two of the four seniors who are seated at the high table in the front, which has four guards standing on either side of them.

Simply by raising my eyebrows, I asked Elder Ruby to explain the reason why I ought to be here in the first place. Almost immediately, she grasped what I meant by saying that. Now, my relationship with this elder is one that is very formal in nature. Taking into consideration the incident from that day, in which I came dangerously close to killing her, she became extremely disciplined around me. She avoided talking to me unless it was absolutely necessary, like when we were in court. It's highly likely and absolutely certain that she was still terrified of me.

Elder Ruby passed a folder to a security officer, and the officer then passed it to me. There are reports and maps regarding the rogue attack that was carried out by the alpha of the Nightcrawler Pack contained within the papers that are contained within the folder.

"You need to get to the bottom of the problem." It seemed to me that she was using a more formal tone.

I acknowledged her with a nod and kept my attention fixed on her while I re-filed the documents inside the folder. After that, I directed my attention to the seasoned person who was seated next to her.

Before continuing, Elder Paul made the following remark to the group: "I know you don't need me to tell you that something weird is happening." "Every day, the scoundrels amass more strength and add more members to their ranks. I have put a lot of effort into determining the cause of their rising population, but to no avail. The Nightcrawler Pack has been attacked by them on three separate occasions. They almost give off the impression that they are looking for something. When a group of rogues attacks a pack of werewolves, they almost always go straight for the kill because there is no second chance. Nevertheless, when they attacked the Nightcrawler Pack, they did not kill anyone; rather, they struck three times in rapid succession as if they were waiting for something. This gave the impression that they were looking for something." Elder Paul paused for a moment and then continued speaking after taking a deep breath. I kept my mouth shut and continued to pay attention. He concluded by saying, "Within the Nightcrawler Pack, find out what's going on and let us know as soon as possible," to which I nodded in agreement before bowing and departing.

Elder Ruby called out my name just as I was about to walk out of the double doors, and I immediately stopped. I came to a stop in the middle of my walk and turned to face her. "Don't kill anyone," she cautioned me as I looked in her direction.

We were engulfed in utter silence at that point.

After that, I gave her a smirk and sneered in an icy manner before turning my full back to the more senior person and saying, "I am sorry, but I cannot make any promises to you. When I am given the opportunity, I go on the offensive. If it were necessary for me to kill, I certainly would. And there was a significant possibility that I might end up murdering someone because it was my hometown, my history, and my worst nightmare all rolled into one "I remarked as I walked away from her while simultaneously turning my back on her.

"But Nikky—" I stopped talking to her.

"Silence Elder Ruby. Let me have a sane trip, "I responded while keeping my back to her. "You shouldn't be as concerned as you are right now. I am a killer, but I only do it when it's absolutely necessary." I continued.

I loaded all of my belongings into the car that was provided to me for the duration of this trip. When I was about to close the door, my attention was drawn to Dad, Beatrice, and Leonard. For a variety of reasons, I've decided to bring Leonard along with me on this mission. The first goal is to assist me in taming my explosive temper and rage. The second objective is to prevent my monster, Serenity, from showing up at inappropriate times. And finally, to prevent me from killing someone else by any means necessary.

Because of the same thing, Elder Ruby and a few other warriors will be traveling with me as well.

Beatrice asked me to "please come back safely, honey," as she hugged me and then continued her statement. I wrapped my arms around her and buried my face in the crook of her neck as I hugged her. It is comforting to know that someone will be there to greet you when you get back. It was wonderful to be able to sense the love and care that was provided by those who actually mean it.

After releasing her grip and turning around to face me, she said, "Promise me."

After that, I responded with the words "I promise."

Then I turned my head to the other side to see Lionel. He gave me a pat on the head and then turned to face me while saying, "Until then, my courageous Nikky." The way he behaved made me privately chuckle. The majority of the time, he does it as a sign of his affection.

After that, I turned my head to look at Leonard. "It's time to go, brother," I told him.

The car was started by a warrior, and it then drove past Beatrice, who was smiling, and Lionel, who was waving. A grin began to appear on my face... a smile that vanished almost instantly as I made my way back to the road that led to my history. I turned around one final time and caught a glimpse of my family from the back.

"Are you ready to show them who you really are? Are you prepared to demonstrate to them that the girl they used to control no longer exists in you? I heard Serenity's voice in my head. The hatred that she felt was very clear in the way that she spoke. This beast absolutely still despises my previous family, and I feel the same way about them. The response I got from my wolf made me smile to myself.

She desires their blood, and I will slake her thirst tenfold if she has her way.

Fuck it. I have the urge to kill.
