The Vicious Mother-in-Law
Chapter 4
I felt confused because I hadn't even met my boss, but why did he ask me out to dinner?
After Daniel left, I officially resumed my work.
By noon, I stretched and took my cup ready to go to the rest room to get some water. I had a tough job, and I thought it would be better to take a vacation.
I rubbed my sore neck and walked to the rest room.
As I was about to push the door in, I suddenly heard a conversation going on inside.
"Felix, why is that woman here again?"
"Ignore her. Sarah, I missed you..."
Hearing the voice, I realized that she was Sarah, the intern I had taken before, and the other guy was, of course, my asshole husband.
I was surprised. This intern had come in the month before I took my leave, and she was pretty and cute, who was indeed many guys' type. I thought Felix was just like that because of his mother, but I didn't realize he was disgusting at his core.
I heard rustling and indescribable sounds coming from inside, mixing with the sound of a woman moaning.
It turned out that flattery was actually Felix's usual trick, and I had once thought he was a simple man.
I resisted the urge to throw up and pressed the record button. When the time came for us to get divorced, it would serve as evidence that he was cheating on me, and I could get back the money he took from me after we got married.
After it was all over, I rushed to flee the scene before they came out. Unexpectedly, I bumped into a man, and I took a deep breath from the pain, touching my forehead where I'd been hit.
"Are you okay?"
The calm sound came from above my head, and I looked up to see the man. He was tall, and his eyes were gorgeous, as if he was hiding certain emotions. He was dressed in a suit, his hair combed back to perfection.
He looked exactly like a condescending president.
I anxiously distanced myself from him and fled after signaling that I was fine.
It wasn't because of anything else, he was my crush from college, James Thompson.
When I returned to my office, I took a deep breath of fresh air. I had been working for this company for three years, but why had I never seen him here before? Could he be an intern who was recently transferred here?
The company I worked for was one of the top investment and finance companies at home, and we would recruit thousands of college students from prestigious colleges every year. I took a three-month vacation, so it was indeed normal that I hadn't seen him.
By the time I got off work, I finished packing and opened my office door to see Felix very frustrated. I wanted to laugh, but the baby in my belly kicked me a few times, and I felt a lot of pain, so I smiled helplessly.
I guessed Felix got a call from the property management company. Anyway, I wasn't in a hurry, so I just stood there and waited for him to speak.
"Did you sell the house?"
"Not yet. They're still valuing it. Are you going to buy it?"
Felix said in exasperation, "We're married, and that's our joint property. How could you sell it without telling me?"
I thought what he said was ridiculous. Was that our joint property? It was property my mother gave me before I got married, so it wasn't our joint property at all.
"Have you never studied law or do you have a low IQ? That's my personal property, I can do with it as I please."
Felix was now with his mother, so they had no place to stay, and he came to me. It was my house, and I could sell it if I wanted to.
I held my sore back and glanced at Felix up and down. I used to think he was handsome and ambitious, but now I thought he was shameless and disgusting.
"Do you know why I sold the house?"
"Because you and your mother lived in my house, and I thought it was dirty."
Felix immediately looked angry and annoyed. Finally, he blushed and started cursing out. By this time, there was no one left in the office, and he had no regard for his dignity.
He even raised his hand to hit me. Suddenly, a man stood in front of him, his hand stopped in mid-air.
