The Stepmother Is Not Vicious
Chapter 3
This morning, Kayla took Jasper out to play and didn't come back until evening.
Anabel was not abused today, so I felt better and had a peaceful day.
But as soon as they returned home, they would cause some trouble.
Anabel, who was thin and weak, stood by the stairs, waiting for the orders of Kayla and Jasper.
Anabel was already five years old, but she was only slightly taller than Jasper, who was three years old.
But Jasper was far fatter than her.
Even so, Jasper still ate a lot if he wanted to.
This time, he was enjoying the fried chicken he bought from outside.
Maybe because he usually bullied Anabel, Jasper was showing off with a chicken leg in his hand.
"Kayla bought chicken legs for me. They are delicious!"
After speaking, he tore off a big piece of meat and ate rudely.
Anabel usually had leftovers. Looking at the greasy chicken legs and smelling the meat, I could see that her eyes were full of desire.
That annoying little fat boy saw the desire in Anabel's eyes and a wicked smile appeared on his face.
He ran to Anabel with his chubby legs and held the chicken leg next to her nose.
"I'm full and don't want to eat this chicken leg.
"Do you want to eat it?"
Anabel looked at the chicken leg and then at her smiling brother. She hesitated for a while and nodded.
"Yes, I want to eat it."
Jasper smirked, threw the chicken leg on the ground, and stomped on it fiercely with his chubby legs.
Then he shouted at a dog.
"Cale, come."
With two barks, a Rottweiler ran out of the house.
The dog saw the chicken leg under Anabel's feet and pounced on it.
The dog was even taller than Anabel. When Anabel saw the dog, she was so scared that her face turned pale and she fell to the ground.
The dog ate the chicken leg happily, while the naughty chubby boy clapped his hands and laughed.
"I would rather give it to the dog than you!"
The five-year-old girl already had her self-esteem, and her face was filled with fear and humiliation.
I couldn't bear to watch from upstairs.
"Lock your dog up. It's disgusting!"
Jasper seemed a little afraid of me and walked away with his dog timidly.
However, he still didn't have enough fun.
After sending the dog back, he sat back at the table and tore the chicken into pieces one by one.
The aroma of roasted chicken filled the entire hall, and I could even smell it.
Twenty minutes later, a servant came in with a paper bag.
"Madam, your takeout is here."
I walked down the stairs, took the takeout bag, put it on the table, and took out the contents.
Jasper's eyes lit up and he exclaimed excitedly.
"Wow, egg tarts, french fries, hamburgers, original recipe chicken. It's a KFC family bucket.
"I want to eat!"
With a glare from me, Jasper immediately dared not shout any more.
Blaine Herman and I were married because of a business alliance, and my family could be considered a wealthy one.
Kayla was a little afraid of me, so she didn't dare to confront me, nor did she dare to let Jasper provoke me.
Jasper never dared to covet my things.
Jasper knew that I wouldn't share with him, so he immediately started crying again.
"Grandma, I want to eat them! Give me the food!"
Kayla hurriedly ran over to comfort Jasper.
"Jasper, it's junk food. We don't eat it.
"I will buy you a big chicken leg tomorrow, okay?"
Jasper was a little afraid of me. Seeing that Kayla didn't give in to him, he stopped crying, sitting angrily on the chair.
I glared at him and snorted.
"I was planning to eat something, but you let that disgusting dog out and made the house stink. I don't feel like eating anything now."
I turned around and waved at Anabel.
"Come here and finish all of this."
Anabel was somewhat surprised and hesitant to come over.
"Come over. What are you standing there for?"
My expression was fierce. Finally, Anabel nodded and sat down on the chair.
Her eyes lit up, and her thin little hands were hesitating over the food as if she didn't know which one to eat first.
The chubby boy, who had been calmed down by his grandmother, started crying again when he saw me giving the delicious food to Anabel.
"Grandma, even the bastard can eat them. Why can't I?"
The moment I gave the food to Anabel, thunder roared in my ears.
I explained hurriedly.
"Didn't your grandmother say that this is junk food?
"Junk food should be eaten by trash. Do you want to eat it? Are you trash?"
After my words, the thunder in my ears stopped for a moment. Then it started again, stopped, and started again as if it was hesitating.
After a few more roars, the thunder disappeared.
I made it!
I shouted excitedly in my heart.
You wicked system! thought I.
You artificial idiot, you're not a match for me!
I'll beat you up and leave you behind!
Anabel was enjoying the delicious food she had never had before, and I felt extremely satisfied in my heart.
The crying of that wicked fat boy was not so annoying anymore, and it sounded like a cheerful symphony.
The fat boy cried, fell to the ground, and broke everything on the coffee table.
I just watched his funny performance and almost couldn't help but burst into laughter.
Suddenly, a deep male voice sounded at the door.
"What's going on?
"Elyse, are you abusing the child again?"
No one was allowed to bully my daughter.
I took a closer look and it turned out to be the father of two children, my husband who I saw for the first time, had come back.
Blaine might be the only person in the original work who had shown a little warmth to the female protagonist, but unfortunately, he was obsessed with work and rarely took care of the children.
Later, because of the broken relationship with me, the wicked stepmother of the kids, he went abroad for development and finally appeared once when the female protagonist died.
He was wearing a navy blue suit with a black woolen coat, and he was tall and straight.
The two children were beautiful, inheriting their father's good features.
Blaine frowned at me as if I had done something unforgivable.
I quickly shrugged and shifted the blame.
"Do you think I'll withhold food from the kids? The chubby boy wouldn't eat but feed the dog with the delicious food, and then he came to snatch Anabel's food.
"If I don't give it to him, he will throw a tantrum. What can I do?"
Blaine narrowed his eyes and turned to look at Jasper.
The little boy who was just throwing a tantrum stood up immediately when he saw his father coming back.
But he just rolled on the ground, so his clothes were dirty and messy, and he cried with snot bubbling, looking very disheveled.
"Jasper, is that so?"
The chubby child felt the fierce gaze of his father and hid behind his grandmother in fear.
Kayla saw Blaine coming back and immediately felt supported, so her attitude towards me changed instantly.
"Why are you so malicious, Elyse? Children always make mistakes.
"Parents are usually trying to control their anger as much as possible, and you are still causing trouble!"
I was not a person who could be easily bullied. Kayla was looking for trouble, and I should have a fierce argument with her.
But I thought of the ending of this book.
In the book, Blaine settled in a foreign country. Kayla and Jasper lived a worry-free life, and only Anabel passed away, which I found unfair.
I was restricted by the system and I couldn't do anything. I should guide Blaine to take care of Anabel more.
In the original book, Blaine and Elyse had a bad relationship, so he didn't spend much time at home.
I should find a way to make Blaine come home more often.
With this in mind, I didn't argue with Kayla to avoid annoying Blaine.
I looked at Kayla and sneered.
"I just can't stand it. Anyway, he's not my child, so I can choose not to take care of it."
In the original book, Elyse was a spoiled rich girl who didn't take care of the children and just indulged in having fun every day.
My behavior was in line with my character.
Blaine was fed up with the home which was full of trouble, so after scolding Jasper, he prepared to go to the study.
