The Secret Unveiled: Time to Revenge! Chapter 1

1

Due to an accident, Xavier Wensley had a hearing impairment. He couldn't stand it and wanted to end his life.

To help him regain his confidence, I, Stella Lewis, pretended to be deaf and stayed by his side.

Xavier gradually fell in love with me as we got along. With gesture language, he swore to me, "I only love you in my entire life, Stella."

Then, after a specific medicine treating hearing impairment came out, he recovered and became a popular upstart in the business field.

At his birthday party, however, he confessed his true feelings for me to his friends.

"Stella was born to be deaf and can't be cured. She will stay that way for the rest of her life.

"As a man sound in body, I can't talk to her with gesture language for the rest of my life.

"If she can, I hope that she can disappear as soon as I recover so that I can still remember how kind she was."

After saying that, Xavier still looked deep into my eyes with somewhat fake love.

I only felt my heart was shattered after hearing what he said.

The secret I had been hiding from him for six years seemed no longer necessary to reach his ears.

On his birthday, Xavier booked the most lavish club in the city for the whole day.

People who attended the party were not only his old friends but also new business partners.

He brought me to see all the guests and introduced me to them as if he wouldn't get tired.

"This is my girlfriend, Stella Lewis."

Meeting so many strangers made me uneasy, so I subconsciously hid behind Xavier.

Blocking the curious gaze for me, Xavier taught those people to say hello to me by gesture language.

They all praise him for not leaving such a deaf girl even after his career took off.

So did I; that's why I wanted to tell him the secret as the best gift for his 28th birthday.

Delightedly, Xavier toasted to everyone.

Seeing him stroll into the crowd with champagne, I felt so happy for him from the bottom of my heart.

He was born to be God's favored one. The depression he went through for the last six years was merely an accident.

As he regained his hearing, Xavier clawed back his previous status in the business field.

The satire was replaced by respect.

I couldn't help but look at wherever he went.

In my heart, Xavier was the man who deserved the best in the world.

After toasting too many guests, Xavier was a little tired and lay on the sofa next to me.

Closing his eyes just for a second, he opened his eyes and asked me with gesture language, "Stella, are you bored of this? if you are, I can take you to the lounge."

I shook my head. "I'm fine. However, I have something really important to tell you."

Xavier nodded and was to take my hand to walk out.

However, as the person who drew all the focus of the guests, Xavier couldn't spare to leave since people rushed to talk with him.

One of his high schoolmates stopped him with champagne.

"Don't try to escape, Xavier! We are schoolmates, so cheers!"

Xavier explained why he had to leave, but his schoolmate refused to give way to him.

"I have come back from the south to celebrate your birthday. Can you cares about my feelings?"

I dragged Xavier's sleeve and gestured, "It's nothing urgent. I can tell you later."

I didn't want to embarrass him.

Stroking my hair, Xavier kissed my forehead in front of the guests.

The chuckles burst out in the box, and I hid myself into his arms because of shyness.

Xavier loved to show that I was his girlfriend in public.

Although knowing how much I felt shy, he couldn't help teasing me again and again.

He said that I was like a peach jelly when I blushed.

So Xavier started drinking with them again, and I obediently sat back.

His schoolmate, who was a little drunk, asked with a lisp, "So...so you really gonna spend the rest of your life with this deaf?"

Hearing this, Xavier, who sat by me, leaned back unconsciously.

Instead of looking at me, he stared at his high schoolmate with his mouth opening.

A person with hearing impairment could only understand what others said by reading lip language if without gestures.

But apparently, Xavier didn't want me to know what he was saying.

I couldn't help but worry about whether he still kept talking about the flirts with me.

I grabbed my skirt a little awkwardly.

Gulping the wine in his glass, Xavier replied articulately, "Stella is a good girl. I can't imagine how I can go through the six years.

"But she was born to be deaf and will stay that way for the rest of her life.

"As a man sound in body, I can't talk to her with gesture language for the rest of my life."

He sighed.

"In fact, whenever I communicate with her, it rouses my darkest memory. It's really torturing.

"The most torturing thing is that if the old foxes in the business field know I marry a deaf woman, they will definitely mock me. I'm fed up with that.

"If she can, I hope that she can disappear as soon as I recover so that I can still remember how kind she was."

The man Xavier talked with even became sober after hearing that, with a stunned expression on his face.

"Then...why do you bring her here?"

Xavier smiled, "Well, she is useful. Since she helped me, I will definitely marry her after all."

Xavier turned around and found that I was grabbing my skirt.

He held my hand and subconsciously warmed my cold hands just like before.

What filled his eyes was love, as if he would see no one but me.

Although I looked expressionless, my heart beat wildly with the pain hitting every corner of my body.

It was because I could hear every word he just said.

I had a secret that was never told to Xavier.

That was, I had no hearing impairment at all.
