Logan's POV

I was laughing with my pack at the pizzeria, trying to get my mind off of Ava. Her silky dark brown hair, the way she looked, her beautiful blues eyes filled with pain and tears. It was like a kick to the stomach when I saw how broken she was.

Wait get a hold of yourself Logan she's worthless. I don't regret my decision on rejecting her, do I? I don't.

Yes you do, my wolf, Jet, growled at me, you're a fucking retard, you rejected our mate.

I block him out of my mind I continued to joke with my friends. I didn't need a weak mate. I didn't need the one who caused my parent's death as my mate.

You see when I was six and Ava was five there was a rouge attack. My parents hid me in the closet and made their way to the fight. They never returned apparently they were killed with her parents trying to save Ava worthless ass. Bottom line is I hate Ava.

I was causally drinking my coke when suddenly I felt a shock run through out my body. It was quick but I immediately get out of my seat and start running towards the pack house I had no control over my actions but, I knew something was wrong, something was wrong with Ava. You can't feel pain unless it's your mate like throughout second period till lunch I felt pain all over my body. I was still aching from the pain she felt.

I barge through the front door and straight up to her room. I knock on the door.

"Ava open the door."

Silence.

"Ava I mean it open the door," my alpha tone slipping into my voice.

Still no answer.

"Open the god damn fucking door!"

You could hear a pin drop.

Rage ran through my veins as I smashed the door open. I inhaled sharply at what I saw.

Her room bare, her closet nothing, the desk empty except for a single sheet of paper. I slowly walk towards it, picked it up and read it.

Dear so called pack,

I hope you sick motherfuckers are happy. I'm never coming back to this place that was supposed to be my home.

A pack is supposed to be family, they're supposed to stick with each other but no you decide that I was the outcast. I don't fit in with you bastards and I glad that I don't. You lowlifes don't know what a family is.

I family isn't supposed to abuse their 'sibling' a family isn't supposed to threaten their 'sibling's' life and a family doesn't reject another one.

Tears began to form in my vision my wolf howled in pain, her scent was all over her room it began to slowly fade. The sweet smell of fresh rain and jasmine flowers, I jump out of her room and followed the fading scent to the woods.

I shifted and ran through the woods as fast as I could but no, it wasn't good enough. I lost her, I lost my mate. I was now in the middle of the woods and there was no sign of her no sign of my beautiful mate and her subtle yet intoxicating scent. I turned around and began my way home. I was mateless and my pack was Luna-less.

I knew what that shock was my mate was gone. The reason to her scent fading from the pack grounds was because she was now a rouge, she was in a cold desolate woods alone. I went back to her room and noticed she left one item behind. It was an old acoustic guitar, I held it in my hands and went up to my room I put it next to my bed. I was going to cherish it.

Ava's POV

I stopped running, I was too tired to move anyway. I had been running since I left no stops and the sun was starting to set. I knew I was far enough from my old pack. I leaned myself on the nearest tree and slide down resting my legs.

Then an unbearable pain course through me. I let out a blood curdling scream as I fell to the floor. My bones were reshaping and cracking I felt them moving through my body, I clawed at the ground trying to bare the pain. Wait Clawed!!! I look at my hands while tears from the pain slips down my face. My nails were growing longer and my hand started to compact and fur started to sprout out.

I was beginning to shift into my wolf. A werewolf shifts on his or hers sixteenth birthday or when they meet their mate. The torturous pain continued and I couldn't take it I passed out in the middle of nowhere.

Hey, hey wake up, a unknown voice calls. My eyes slowly flutter open.

I look around to see no one," where are you?" I call out.

I'm right here, she chuckles at my question.

Wait who are you, I think.

I slowly stood up on all four. Wait. ALL FOUR!!! I quickly run to the nearest pond and look into the water. My reflection was a pure white wolf with one sparkle purple eye and another sliver eye.

I laugh, so how do we change back.

I closed my eyes and thought about myself. I opened them and I was standing in the woods naked. Butt-naked. Heat ran through my cheeks as I grabbed clothes out of my backpack and changed into them. I started to walk around and I noticed the sky was finally turning dark. I grabbed the blanket I packed, climbed the nearest tree and slept in it. I wasn't comfy but it was better than sleeping in the cold hard floor.
