Chapter 1

My daughter had been acting strange lately.

She was only six years old, but she acted like she was an old woman.

Even when I went to pick her up from school, she burst into tears and said, "You're old and ugly. I don't want you to pick me up from school."

I was heartbroken.

But when I was giving her a bath, I found that she had 28 teeth.

Young children like her generally had only 20 baby teeth.

I felt desperate for an instant.

My hands were trembling, and I slowly looked at the little girl in front of me.

She gave a malicious smile.

"You're so ugly. I don't want you but my dad to pick me up!" Her sharp cry attracted the attention of everyone around.

I felt a little embarrassed when I noticed the strange looks from other parents.

Since I gave birth to Emily, my weight had soared from 90 kilograms to 130 kilograms.

Later, I was busy taking care of her and didn't care about losing weight or dressing up. I just wanted to take care of her until she entered elementary school, and then I would return to the workplace.

My hands were shaking a little, and I forced a smile and said, "Baby, Daddy has to work, and it's the same if I come to pick you up."

Emily had two ponytails, wore a beautiful dress with little stars on it, and had pink nail polish on her hands. Although she was only six years old, she looked mature.

She pouted and said, "What can a loser like you do? You don't even give me a hundred dollars to spend."

I felt exhausted and wondered why my lovely and sensible daughter became like this.

I remembered that Emily could understand my feeling since she could speak.

Emily was only three years old at that time and could enter kindergarten.

The beauty salon owner, Zoey, whom I knew before, opened a branch. She felt that I was knowledgeable about beauty projects and was gentle and talkative, so she asked me if I would like to be the manager of her branch.

However, Bell Ford disagreed. He smashed a lot of things at home and yelled at me, "Who will do the housework if you go to work? Who will take care of Emily?"

I explained, "We can let your mom..."

Before I could finish my words, Bell slapped me in the face and said, "How dare you treat my mother as a nanny? Alice, I married you to relieve my mother's pressure not to impose pressure on her."

Bell slapped me so hard that I was stunned. My husband, who was handsome and kind before marriage, showed his true side after marriage.

Emily cried, and her face turned red. She stood in front of me and said, "Don't bully my mother. Go away."

Bell looked at Emily in disgust and said, "Damn it, I raised you up, but you're so ungrateful. Didn't I just slap your mother?"

I held Emily in my arms. I didn't want her to lose her father's love at such a young age.

So I compromised, "It's okay, I'll go to work when Emily goes to elementary school."

Only then was Bell satisfied.

Emily liked staying around with me since she was a child. When I did housework, she followed me, running around to bring me water and hand me a towel.

Bell was a sales manager. He got drunk every night and yelled when he got home.

Emily kept avoiding him, quietly hugged my neck, and said that she didn't like Bell.

But not knowing since when Emily began to hate me and like Bell more.

This made me gradually put aside my original idea of divorcing and leaving with Emily after I found a job.
