Chapter 2

Wasn't she dead?

Where was her?

Lanita sat up silently. Before she could look around the room, the bathroom door opposite was opened and a tall, steamy and naked man came out.

She opened her eyes wide, and saw what she shouldn't see.

"Ah --" she exclaimed, covering her eyes.

Kraig Weckman didn't even look at her. He calmly went to the bedside and picked up the nightgown on the bed.

Lanita was surprised and suddenly felt that the man looked familiar.

She saw this man, Kraig Weckman was wearing a nightgown.

Lanita saw his strong figure again, especially his raised hands, tight abdominal muscles and sexy mermaid line. Then she stared at his handsome face and shouted, "Brother-in-law?" He was her sister's husband.

Kraig Weckman heard her call him, and his deep eyes finally looked at her.

"What do you call me?"

"Brother in law, where is this? Why am I here? Where's my sister? What's going on?"

Kraig Weckman tied the belt of his nightgown without delay, and then said coldly, "Alene Weckman, don't think you can pretend to be crazy in front of me by changing your sister's heart. I don't buy it."

Alene Weckman? Heart?

Lanita didn't quite understand, but Alene Weckman was the name of her twin sister. Their parents were divorced, so their surnames were different. They had been separated from each other since childhood and have little contact.

Her sister found out that she was suffering from dilated myocarditis when she was eight years old. Recently, her condition has become more and more serious. The doctor said that only heart replacement surgery can make her slowly improve.

Did she transplant her heart to her sister after she was killed? But why did she still have her own consciousness?

Lanita hurried out of bed and unconsciously grabbed his sleeve.

"Don't touch me."

Kraig Weckman's voice was full of disgust, and Lanita's hand shook violently.

She resisted his strong pressure and said again, "Brother-in-law, whatever you think. Tell me, what's going on?"

Kraig Weckman waved his hand.

Lanita's hand broke away from his sleeve, and she almost fell.

Kraig Weckman's eyes were deep and his eyebrows frowned. He strode to the wardrobe, took off the nightgown she touched, threw it on the ground, and then took out another one from the wardrobe and put it on again.

Lanita now understands how much he hated her.

No....

It's her sister.

Although she didn't have much contact with her sister, her sister said she was very happy.

Was that what she said about happiness?

Lanita had no hope with Kraig Weckman. she thought of someone who can tell her everything. Her eyes immediately turned to the mobile phone on the bedside table.

"May I give a call to my friend?"

Kraig Weckman ignored her.

"If you don't speak, I'll take it as if you agree."

Lanita said, quickly took his cell phone, hurried into the bathroom where he had just come out, and locked it.

Kraig Weckman looked at the door of the bathroom, and his eyes were deeper.

Lanita stood in the bathroom and breathed out a long breath. Then she flustered to turn on his cell phone, but she saw that the date displayed on it was July 21. She remembered that night was June 15.....

It's been a whole month, and her father.....

She didn't dare to think about it. She immediately dialed a series of numbers and put her mobile phone in her ear.

"Hello?"

The familiar voice was coming into the eardrum, and Lanita's excited eyes were red.

"Silas......". She called the name, which belonged to her fiance.

"This is Silas Mcnutt. Who is that, please?"

Lanita wanted to say her name, but she can't be impulsive. She must first find out the current situation: "I'm Alene Weckman."

"Mrs. Weckman? How can I help you?"

"I want to ask you about my sister."

"Lanita?"

"Yes."

"You already know everything about her....."

Lanita listened to his sad voice and controlled her mood: "I want to know more clearly. Can you tell me? Tell me everything you know."

“……”

Silas Mcnutt was silent for a long time, as if the phone had already hung up, and then, his voice became very painful: "in fact, what I know should be similar to you, because I didn't see the process of her suicide. I just heard the police say that she was in a car accident and was seriously hit on the head and died on the spot. When she died, she held a registration form of organ donation tightly in her hand, which indicated that she wanted to donate her heart to you."

Lanita was about to cry.

"So... My sister is dead? Really dead?"

"Although I don't want to admit it, I'm a cardiac surgeon. I took her heart out of her chest, put it into your chest and connect your blood vessels. She's really dead. She sacrificed herself to save you."

Lanita really wanted to tell him that she was not so great. She was framed.

But she couldn't say, and she was more worried: "Where's my father? How is he now?"

"He has been in bad shape since his stroke. Come and see him more if you are free."

Lanita fell to the ground with weak legs.

She still had no time to save her father. For a whole month, everything had become a foregone conclusion.

Why did she come back to life on her sister after a month? Why not earlier? Why not wake up immediately after the operation, even for an hour or a few minutes, and let her tell her father to be careful of her stepmother and the man.

She tried her best to control herself, but she bit her lower lip hard and bleeding, so as not to let tears flow out of her eyes.

She hated the man and woman and the man who pushed her.

She wouldn't let them go.

Having not heard Lanita's voice for a long time, Silas Mcnutt said anxiously, "Are you all right?"

Lanita returned to her mind.

"Nothing. Silas, no, Dr. Silas Mcnutt, can I see you?"

"You wanna see me?"

"Ah, I mean..." Lanita flustered and thought of an excuse: "my father must be in your hospital now. I want to see him and meet you by the way to ask you something about his condition and my heart, but you don't have to worry. I won't hinder you from being on duty."

"How did you know I was on duty tonight?"

"I... i... I heard from my sister. She complained to me before that you have to be on duty every Sunday and she wanted you to accompany her."

"Yes, I always thought we would have a lot of time together in the future, but I didn't expect time is so short. I'm sorry for her, I didn't cherish her..." Silas Mcnutt took a deep breath: "but it's too late now, and your father has already rested. You'd better come tomorrow."

"No, I want to see you now. I want to see my father now." Lanita was very firm.

"Well, I'll wait for you at the gate of the hospital."

"OK."

Lanita hung up and walked out of the bathroom immediately.

In the bedroom.

Kraig Weckman was already lying in bed, sleeping with his eyes closed.

Lanita walked softly to the bedside, put his mobile phone back on the bedside table, and then looked at his sleeping face.

Although his character was annoying, this face was really handsome, with well-defined facial features, charming eyes, and his long eyelashes. And his sexy lips, which inexplicably induced people to think he was a master kisser and tempt people to have a try.

It seemed that her sister should be tempted by his face when she married him.

Lanita frowned.

She turned to find her clothes, put them on quickly, and quietly walked out of the bedroom.

"Click."

When the door was closed, Kraig Weckman opened his eyes.

He got up, turned his head, stared at the mobile phone on the bedside table, then stretched out his long arm, took the mobile phone, pressed on, pointed out the call record, stared at the top string of numbers, and dialed the assistant's mobile phone below.

……

Lanita urged the driver all the way to the hospital.

Before getting off, she saw Silas Mcnutt standing straight in front of the hospital in a pure white coat through the window.

She got out of the car excitedly, ran to him, looked at his warm face with red eyes, clenched her fist tightly, and controlled herself not to hug him.

Silas Mcnutt looked at her and suddenly held out his hand to her.

"Mrs. Weckman, your mouth..." he said, his fingers touching her lips.

Lanita's tears almost fell out.

She raised her mouth and said happily, "I'm fine. I broke it accidentally."

Silas Mcnutt realized his impoliteness and immediately withdrew his hand: "I'm sorry, I'm a doctor. I have habitual movements as soon as I see the wound."

"It doesn't matter." She wished he could touch her more.

"Well, I'll take you to treat the wound first, and then I'll take you to see your dad."

"OK."

Lanita followed him into the hospital.

A black car then slowly drove into the gate of the hospital. The man on the car got off with a mobile phone in his hand. On the mobile phone was a picture of their intimate contact.
