Chapter 2

As Jenna looked at me in tears, Rachel calmly pushed my wheelchair aside and obediently helped her up the next second.

"Mom, didn't the doctor say that your heart is not good and you shouldn't get too excited? Taylor, we are going to live together for a long time. Don't stimulate Mom like that."

Andrew also stood beside me and nodded at me. His gaze flashed quickly on my legs, with a hint of vigilance and disdain in his eyes. "It's good that you're back. Take a seat and have a meal."

At the dining table, Eason and Nathan treated me as if I were invisible. Andrew maintained his authority as the head of the family, while Jenna warmly picked up dishes for me, almost piling up a small mountain in front of me.

"Taylor, I don't know what you like to eat. You are so thin. Eat more to gain weight."

The system's prompt sounded, "Beep. Detect a maximum Malice Points of 45 points from Rachel." At the same time, Nathan sneered.

"She can't tell the difference between good and bad food. Can a wild girl who grew up in a poor district tell the difference between blue lobster and roadside stall crayfish?"

There was a slight pause in my action, and Rachel was already looking at him with a half-annoyed, half-coquettish expression. "Nathan!" Then she smiled at me, half-charming and half-proud. "Taylor, Nathan has been spoiled by me since childhood. He's straightforward and quick-witted, with no ill intentions. You won't mind him, will you?"

Nathan pouted. "You're only eighteen, just two years older than me. How do you spoil me since I was little..." But there was clearly a hint of affection in his eyes.

It was clear at a glance to whom he was close.

I had no emotion at this scene that had already been repeated thirty-nine times in front of me, and I even felt like laughing.

I could even recite the next line of Rachel, "Taylor, why don't you say anything? Are you unhappy? Or... you don't want to see me?"

"If that was the case, I'm willing to leave the Klein family, leave my beloved parents and brothers, as long as Taylor can be happy..."

And then... I would face cold glares from my family, and Jenna would faint and be hospitalized due to excessive stimulation.

And I would also bear the blame for being unfilial and angering Jenna on the first day.

No one would explain the truth for me.

Even, they deliberately isolated me and alienated me to erase me, the disgraceful stain, from the perfect Klein family.

I was like the supporting character in the story while Rachel was the beloved female lead in it.

She was beautiful, pure-looking, excelled in ballet, piano, and painting, and was always surrounded by numerous young talents who admired her.

Even Eason and Nathan were among her many admirers.

If it weren't for the lack of childhood bond, they would probably not even be able to be noticed by her.

And I... I was just a control group used to contrast with Rachel's perfect life, and a stumbling block to test her sincere love.

The clichéd story began on the night I returned to the Klein family as the real daughter.

After eighteen years of living in the slums, suffering from abuse and hunger, I was finally told by Tony, the butler who came to my door on my eighteenth birthday, that I was the lost daughter of the richest family in LA, the Klein family, and he came to take me home.

Rachel, who had enjoyed a luxurious life in the wealthy family for eighteen years as the fake daughter, would continue to live at home because the Klein family couldn't bear to part with her.

I was the unsociable and unlikeable biological daughter, while she was the elegant and considerate daughter. Naturally, the Klein family favored Rachel.

And Rachel had explicitly and secretly used all means, framing, planting, bullying... trying to drive me out of this family again.

She didn't allow anyone to take away her love and halo.

And in the end, she succeeded.

In the storyline, our fate unfolded over and over again according to the predetermined trajectory.

Rachel stood at the pinnacle of life every time, surrounded by countless flowers, admiration, applause, and favoritism.

And I was repeatedly beaten down into the abyss, disgraced, crazy, and finally died miserably in a deserted alley where no one cared.
