Chapter 3

After rushing to the hospital, I eagerly pulled Zion to see the doctor.

As long as the doctor told Zion Thomas' current condition and arranged the surgery immediately, Thomas would be saved.

Just as I was excitedly waiting for Zion to come out of the doctor's office and tell me that Thomas could have the surgery.

But I saw him push the door open in a hurry and walk out of the hospital without even looking at me.

"Zion! Zion! Wait a minute! Where are you going? "

The doctor also chased out with an anxious look. He looked at Zion's receding figure and asked me with some confusion.

"Is there something urgent to Dr. Griffin? He didn't even finish examining the patient before he received a phone call, and he just left in a hurry. It seemed like someone was crying on the other end of the phone."

After hearing what the doctor said, I didn't have time to think too much and hurriedly chased after Zion. I saw Zion walk out in the rain without even an umbrella and started to hail a taxi.

In the heavy rain, I grabbed his sleeve and asked, "Where are you going? Didn't you agree to operate on Thomas first?"

"Stella gets an attack of stomach trouble again. I have to go and see her. I just learned about Thomas' condition. He can definitely hold on until I come back."

Because Stella had a stomachache, he could see her in the rain regardless of everything.

But what about Thomas? Obviously, his condition was more serious than hers.

I held him back in confusion, "But Thomas is in critical condition! She just has a stomachache. She just needed to take some medicine and drink some boiled water. Why do you have to go?!"

I pulled his arm tightly, gritted my teeth, and looked at him, "No, you can't leave! You have to stay and perform surgery on Thomas first."

At this moment, I threw all my consideration to the back of my mind. I just wanted Thomas to survive.

Seeing that the taxi had arrived, Zion didn't want to get involved with me anymore.

He shook my hand off and threw me to the side of the road.

I fell into a puddle on the side of the road, my wrist was scratched and bleeding.

"Yasmine Drake, don't be so aggressive. I said I would perform surgery on Thomas. Thomas' illness is a big deal, and so is Stella's. In front of a doctor, every patient matters. Don't be so selfish and only care about your family."

After saying that, he got into the car. I screamed in pain and banged on the window. At that moment, I looked like a madman.

I knelt on the road, crying and begging him not to leave.

But Zion was unwilling to even roll down the window. I chased the taxi which was speeding up and was accidentally knocked down by the vehicle.

I fell back into the puddle again.

My wrist was bruised and twisted abnormally, probably broken, but I didn't feel any pain at all.

I returned to the hospital, covered in mud and wounds.

When the doctor saw my expression and found that there was no one behind me, he understood everything. He sighed deeply and went to check on Thomas.

Thomas could have held on until midnight, but because of a sudden wound infection, he started to have a fever.

He was rushed to the emergency room again.

At this moment, I was completely exhausted and could only lean against the cold wall and pray for God's mercy.

People said that people outside the door of the emergency room were more pious than when they were in the church.

I knelt on the ground and prayed to God that if he really could see me, please save Thomas.

Thomas was only twenty-two years old and he still had a lot of time in his life. He couldn't leave this world with regrets.

He didn't even graduate from college yet.

Time flew, and the lights in the operating room finally went out.

I looked at the doctor with hope, but he just took off his mask and shook his head at me.

As I watched Thomas' body being covered with a white sheet and carried out, I completely collapsed.

I knelt beside Thomas' body and cried bitterly. I gradually lacked oxygen, and everything in front of my eyes went dark.

At the last moment before I fainted, I seemed to hear Thomas' voice in my ear.

He still looked at me with vigor and vitality, "Yasmine, when I make money in the future, I will buy you a house by the sea, and we can enjoy the sea breeze and the sea view every day. "

But I didn't even have the energy to respond to him.

The rain lasted for a long time that night, so long that it separated me and my only relative.
