Chapter 1
After my mother’s death, I became the only legitimate daughter under the care of the pack’s Luna.
With my status, I became the Luna of the Southern Pack, mated to Zahir Rivera, the Alpha.
Our bond was harmonious, our lives filled with honor and respect, our pups dutiful, and our future secure.
When I passed, Zahir himself kept vigil by my side for three days.
The last words he spoke to me at my resting place were:
“I’ve fulfilled my duties as your mate in this life. I only hope we never meet again in the next.”
When I was reborn, I decided to grant him his wish.

It was the rainy season in the south, and the skies poured relentlessly.
I stood by the lake, unshielded from the rain, watching the figure struggling in the water. I made no move to help.
Moments later, an umbrella appeared above me.
It was Amaris Bishop, the Omega servant who had always been loyal to my mother, Elliot Evans.
“I thought, given your affection for Zahir since childhood, you’d rush to save him,” my mother said as she approached, her sharp eyes scanning the distant figure.
But I felt her gaze was fixed on me, not him.
I took a deep breath and knelt in the pouring rain.
“It’s precisely because of that affection that I won’t save him,” I said firmly.
“What I want is genuine love, not obligation born from a debt of life.
Whether I save him or not, it makes no difference.”
After a long silence, my mother sighed softly and signaled to the nearby Delta warrior.
“Go and pull him out. He’s the Alpha, after all. We can’t afford any mishaps.”
She looked down at me, her expression unreadable, until the cold from the ground seeped into my knees. Then, she reached out and helped me up.
“Very well,” she said. “When your father passed, everyone thought the Southern Pack would fall. Yet, we endured.
If we could survive then, we can survive now. If this is your decision, I won’t force you into a mate bond for the sake of power or favor.”
My heart swelled with gratitude, and I knelt again.
“Thank you, Mother, for understanding.”
I had always believed that the love between Zahir and me was genuine, not bound by duty or obligation.
Yet, in my previous life, his final wish was to never see me again in the next.
In this life, I would honor that wish.
