Chapter 1

After the SAT results were released, my daughter was admitted to Harvard University, but my entire family was diagnosed with HIV, including my daughter.

The antiretroviral drugs were in short supply, and my husband was the only one in charge of importing them.

I repeatedly instructed him that the antiretroviral drugs must be delivered within 72 hours, and he readily agreed.

I thought that my daughter would finally be saved, so I waited by her bedside, eagerly awaiting the life-saving medicine. However, to my surprise, my husband suddenly failed to keep his promise and went missing.

I knelt in front of the hospital gate, begging desperately for a doctor to give me a vial of the drug. Looking at the bedridden members of my family, I felt utterly helpless.

I called my husband, Aiden Martin's phone, and his annoyed voice came through.

"I said I would give it to you. What are you nagging about!"

I cried, saying that all of my family members had been diagnosed, and that time was running out. I begged him to be quick.

However, Aiden thought I was lying and sneered, "Your family got dirty disease from messing around. Now you're in a hurry? What were you doing when you were having fun?"

I was so angry that my hands were shaking, but I had to lower my head. Just as I was about to speak, a woman's voice came through on the other end.

"Aiden, do you think I look good in this dress? It's you proposed to me with."

Aiden's breathing momentarily stopped, and the phone was ruthlessly hung up.

That night, all of my family members left me.

——

In the end, Aiden didn't bring the antidote.

But my whole family had already missed the best time for treatment. Overnight, the complications caused by heart disease turned them into a handful of ashes.

I didn't cry or scream. I numbly accepted the urn and buried them in the cemetery.

I silently wiped away my tears and offered a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Before I could even leave the cemetery, I received a call from the staff informing me that someone wanted to dig up the grave, and they couldn't stop them.

I hung up the phone and ran back, losing one of my shoes in the process.

When I arrived in a hurry, the grave had already been dug up in one corner.

"What are you doing!"

I collapsed and cried out, but the buzzing excavator drowned out my voice.

Soon, the urn scattered all over the ground, and the ashes were blown away by the wind.

"Stop! Who gave you permission to do this!"

I bravely extended my arms and rushed to the excavator, blocking it tightly. The sharp blade stopped just an inch away from me.

Sweat dripped down, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

"Amber Wood? Are you crazy?"

I trembled with familiarity and couldn't believe my eyes as I looked up.

My missing husband appeared here unexpectedly, hugging a woman closely, and the woman was also holding an urn in her arms.

Before I could even speak, he frowned with disgust and a hint of anger. "Did you stalk me?"

Stalking him?

I remembered. He always had business meetings, and I advised him to drink less, but he not only didn't listen, but also blocked me.

I had to ask his friends about where he was and whether he was safe, and bring him home after the banquet after when he was drunk.

However, I never thought that these self-gratifying actions were considered stalking in his eyes.

I was about to retort.

Cherry Miller suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

"You! You look so much like me!"
