Chapter 5

We are Lucky and Charms!

Shadow and Rane’s POV:

Me and Rane have been searching in both supernatural and human community and didn’t find out anything about the Hunter organization. He had barely been back to the pack, the only reason he had gone back was for his sons. He knew they missed him, but he knew they wanted him to find their momma. Every time he sees them he can tell that they know something is wrong. When he looks into their eyes he sees her, her smile, her warmness. He refuse to believe that she didn’t survive. She had gotten out the hunter had taken her out of that bunker alive. He didn’t know how he knew he just did.

The sun was going down and he was close to Crystal Moon. He always made sure his sons saw him every night he didn’t ever want them to think he wasn’t coming back. It was hard to leave them every night but he needed to keep searching. I walked to the patio door and shifted putting on the shorts and shirt that the girls left out for me. Once I was fully clothed I knocked on the patio door but no one answered. “Alpha, I’m at the door to see my pups, but no one is answering.” “Yea, we all came to the dining hall to have dinner.” The alpha replied. I took a deep breath I didn’t really want to see anyone. I don’t like the looks of pity on everyone’s faces. I don’t need their looks of pity because I will find Shawna and bring her back to our boys they need her….. I” “OH MY GOD BABY I DIDN’T KNOW YOU WERE COMING BACK TONIGHT!” Scarlett screamed just before I walked into the packhouse.

I closed my eyes because she was also one of the reasons I wanted to keep a low profile. I didn’t want to have to explain to her every night why I had to leave it would just lead to more arguing. I plastered a smile on my face as she leaped into my arms. Our bond was still there but it has somehow changed over time. I couldn’t figure out what was going on I didn’t want to ask her if she felt the change as well because I knew she would be upset and I just didn’t want to deal with what it could all mean. I just wanted to find Shawna and reunite her with our pups. The rest I will deal with later. “Uh it was a last-minute thing I was following a lead and it lead me this way so I decided to stop through and visit the boys.” I said absentmindedly. “Is that the only reason you came back? You didn’t want to see me? Do you not miss me at all? I mean shadow you have been gone ever since we got back from the warehouse. I didn’t say anything when you first decided to go on this mission, but when are you going to stop all this and focus on us and starting our lives together? It seems like I am the only one fighting for our boys. They are growing so fast and soon they will not even know you or me. We need to bond with them while they’re young, or it will be harder for us and them when they move in with us.” Scarlette said, angrily.

“Scarlette I told you not to interfere in my business. I will not make any kind of decision without knowing where Shawna is.” I sneered not wanting to talk about any of this right now. I just wanted to see my pups and go back to searching for Shawna. I turned and stepped into the dining hall spotting my boys right away. My heart always race when I see them, they are everything good in my life right now and I needed that. But Scarlett refused to drop the subject and followed me to the table. “Shadow we all know that she isn’t coming back. Everyone is talking about it; you and those humans don’t want to face the fact that she is dead she died back at the warehouse the entire building collapsed in on itself. The sooner you realize that the sooner we can start our lives with the boys.

Do you think she would want you to neglect her sons by trying to chase some dream or hope that she had somehow survived.” Scarlette obviously upset and hurt. “See this is why, I don’t like coming here. We always have to deal with this bitch and her mouth and every single time I try to shut her ass up permanently yall always stopping me talking about Shadow might die this time around. At this point I’m willing to risk it because she uses that fact to stay talking about my family or trying to put her hands on our boys.” Mina said, right before she threw her blade at Scarlett’s head she moved before the blade landed in her throat, but I wasn’t so lucky the blade had clipped me in the shoulder. The wolves behind her had to move quickly.

“God damn it Mina you could have hit one of the people behind her. Blaze said snatching the second blade Mina had ready to throw. “Let me tell you something if they don’t know by now to get the fuck out the way when they hear a bitch put my family’s name in their mouth disrespectfully, that the person will also get a blade in the mouth than I can’t help you because I’m gonna always step when it come to me and mine. Besides the bitch is already dead I will just be finishing the job. She already know I don’t give a fuck about nothing she got to say but when she speaks on Shawna and our boys that’s when she gone get a blade to the throat. I wish yall would stop trying to save a hoe. It’s like yall asses are allergic to killing these stupid bitches.” Mina said angrily as she placed Storm on her shoulder. When he got fussy probably because he scented me.

“Scar go back to the house I will be there shortly.” I said, without sparing her a glance. “But why…” “I said, go now.” I said allowing Rane to come forward. I heard her slight gasp before I heard her stomping out of the dining hall. “Shadow, you need to get that bitch in check. Yall stay wanting us to be disrespected by yall females because of the mate’s bond but apparently they don’t even care about it. Because they know if they say some dumb shit we will try to kill them, so they do it because they know yall will always stop us to protect your men so they don't die or go rogue. But they confused that with yall protecting them. So, I’m telling yall now yall need to find a better way to handle their mouths, if not, I’ll keep handing out blades. Because if yall keep on stopping us somebody is going to go to sleep and wake up dead.” Ji’lahni said, handing me Kamuri who was doing what he always do talk and growl.

He gets excited when he sniffs me out, Storm always has a serious look but he melts when the girls hold him, Kaos was the playful one he was full of smiles. Whenever I’m near them both Rane and I are at peace, they are my world and I would do anything for them, and that includes finding their mother and bringing her home. I thought as I sat holding all three of them in my hands. They were still so tiny they were smaller than even the girls who were at the head of the table using their daddy as a teething ring. I smile at the thought that I would be enduring the same thing when they are bigger. “So Shadow, I know what you have been doing and I want you to know that the girls have brought someone who could help us find the Hunter.” The alpha said, when I had spent a few minutes with the boys. I looked up at the alpha waiting for him to finish. “Apparently Mina knows someone who knows how to find her.” The alpha said, passing the girls to his Luna. “Who are they? Have they gotten any leads on where she could be?” I asked as my heart started to race with excitement.

“We are Lucky and Charms I heard from the dining hall entrance.” I turned to see two fire redheads standing at the entrance. The smaller one that seem to be just a child came running down the dining hall towards the girls and almost collided with Ahnyla who was getting up from the table. “Hey, watch out are you blind you almost hurt my baby.” Ahnyla said, holding her belly, dramatically. The little girl had shades on which was strange. She didn’t seem at all fazed by Ahnyla’s harsh words. “As a matter of fact, I am blind. But I know that you got in my way and I didn’t get anywhere near your baby.” The little girl responded before taking off her glasses to reveal the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. Her eyes were sky blue with clouds, like a partly cloudy day. “Hey, you got one more time to talk to my daughter like that and someone will be picking your teeth up off the floor.” Ahnyla gasp stepping back away from the woman who came to her daughters defense.

“Are you going to let her threaten me like that?” Ahnyla asked in disbelief. “Excuse me but who the fuck gone check her? Because you just yelled at her little girl.” Ji’lahni said, getting up as she picked the little girl up in her arms. placing her glasses back on her eyes. “See what I’m saying we can’t even fuck her up because she got a mate and a baby.” Mina said throwing her napkin on the table angrily. “Listen everyone calm down let’s take this to the conference room please we have important things to talk about.” Alpha Makahi said, getting up standing between the girls. They all nodded turning around to head out of the dining hall understanding that finding Shawna was more important than anything right now.
