The Fog is Gone, Love is Gone
Chapter 3
Even when I was admitted to university, my family was too poor to pay my tuition, but they refused to use that money.
Later I paid for it with a loan.
Fortunately, now I had a stable income which could meet basic living needs.
Thinking of what happened before, I became mad again, regretting not going crazy just now.
I didn't want to go back to the past days at all.
It was already midnight when I returned to the villa in Birmingham, but it was still brightly lit inside.
The loud music pierced my eardrums.
The neighbors around here were really good-tempered.
When I opened the door, the crowd inside ignored me, a sudden outsider.
I didn't know any of them, so it was obvious that they were brought by Zeke Willson. I suppressed my irritation and found Zeke in the messy living room.
"Can you ask them to leave?" I said impatiently.
Zeke was a little surprised to see me, "Didn't you go back to your hometown?"
"There was some trouble so I came back. I'm so tired and need to go to bed now. Please ask all your friends to leave."
He tried to negotiate, but I decisively said, "No room for negotiation. I'm already upset that you invited so many people to my house for a party without my consent."
After saying that, I went upstairs. The music downstairs stopped, and I gradually heard people leaving one after another.
When I woke up, it was at eight o'clock in the next morning. I picked up my phone and saw that there was no new message.
I should have expected that. I shouldn't have any expectation for them.
Zeke came to me with breakfast in hand and said, "Get up and eat."
He had been my boyfriend since high school, for four years now.
Different from the immature love relationship between each other before, now our hearts were moving further and further away from each other on our own tracks.
Although we were in the same university, no one could guarantee that we would only be with each other in this colorful world.
I was philosophical about that, and I couldn't maintain a sense of novelty towards him all the time. So such moral constraints did not exist between us.
I only had one request, that we could break up peacefully if either of us loved someone else.
When I was eating breakfast, Zeke sat beside the bed and asked, "Why did you come back so early yesterday? Did you have a fight with your parents?"
I put down the spoon and wiped my mouth, "It's terrible. My mother adopted an orphan. In other words, she gave me a 'son' to support."
"That kid was mischievous. He even dared to hit me. I kicked him away, packed my things and then flew back."
He covered his mouth and laughed, "It's something that could happen in your family. It also seems like something you could do."
I tapped the table with my hand in dissatisfaction, "This isn't simply something they who are almost 60 years old can do! They are afraid that I will have an easy life."
"They're even not clear that they are all dependent on me for support! How they still dare to cause trouble for me! I won't serve them anymore."
The summer vacation passed quickly and my parents hadn't contacted me in the past two months.
My life was pretty leisurely.
My current job was writing novels, and I had been doing this for two or three years.
I supported myself by writing, and with a bit of luck, my second novel became a huge hit.
I was earning several thousand dollars a day during that period, but I couldn't believe it.
One day I was still worrying about my parents not giving me living expenses, but the next day I became a rich woman.
To this day, I still earned several thousand dollars a month from that novel.
