The Devil Dad Bought an Accident Insurance for My Mom
Chapter 2
But counting the time, Silvia would be pregnant soon.
There wasn't much time left for them to commit their crimes.
Sure enough, within a few days, my dad wanted to take my mom on another trip. Under the guise of a two-person world, he didn't take me along.
Before they left, I pretended to be sick and rolled around on the ground.
"Mom, my stomach hurts!"
My mom, of course, was not in the mood to go for an outing and took me straight to the hospital.
My dad followed and took advantage of my mom's absence to suddenly ask me.
"Louisa, are you unhappy that I'm taking your mom out?"
My dad asked me with a smile, but I felt cold all over. Fortunately, I reacted quickly and didn't show too much panic.
"You're not taking me with you."
My dad reached out to pat my head and explained.
"Climbing is very tiring. You climbed once last time, didn't you? Do you still want to climb?"
"I just want to be with Mom and Dad."
"Okay, go with us next time."
My dad promised, but I was not happy.
Next time?
My dad didn’t give up on killing Mom.
After being born again, I had not told my mom that my dad wanted to kill her to get her insurance settlement. It was not a big deal that she did not believe me. If she thought it was a joke and told my dad, I would be in danger.
However, I couldn’t always keep an eye on my mom.
In order not to avoid a repetition of the tragedy, I had to take the risk of telling my mom and begging her not to mention it to my dad.
My mom agreed with a smile, obviously not taking my words seriously.
In the blink of an eye, more than a month had passed. My mom wasn’t pregnant, but I knew that Silvia should be pregnant now.
To test her, I deliberately handed her a piece of watermelon. "Aunt Silvia, here you are. It is very sweet."
Silvia declined politely. "I don't have a good appetite recently. I can't eat cold food."
After that, I deliberately played with the ball in the room, and as I played, I accidentally bumped into her and knocked her to the ground.
Seeing this, my dad hurried forward to help her up. "Are you all right?"
Although Silvia shook her head and said that she was fine, she soon left. Not long after, my dad also casually found an excuse to leave.
My mom didn't think much about it and continued to cook.
But I was a bit distracted and tugged on my mom's sleeve, telling her "Aunt Silvia seems to be pregnant."
Mom suddenly stopped chopping vegetables. "Where did you hear that? Don't talk nonsense."
I deliberately lied. "I heard her quarrel with my dad, saying that if my dad didn't marry her, she would have an abortion."
I kept bringing it up. No matter how my mom didn’t care about them, she couldn't remain indifferent.
She seemed to think of something. She wiped her hands, put her clothes on, and went out.
I was worried about her, so I followed her to the hospital. Then I saw my dad, who was accompanying Silvia for a pregnancy test in the obstetrics and gynecology department.
My mom stood still at the end of the corridor for a long time. The second before my dad found her, she took a few steps back and hid.
My mom didn't cry but just held my hand a little tighter.
In the following days, my mom acted as usual as if my dad's affair was not a big blow to her.
But I knew she was having a hard time.
My dad looked honest, but in fact, he was evil and selfish.
When my grandma quarreled with my mom, although he was not partial, my grandmom always had the upper hand. Moreover, he never gave his salary to my mom, but he asked my mom to keep an account of all the family’s daily expenses at home. Not a single wrong was allowed.
I asked my mom why she married my dad. She said that my dad was a hero who saved her from several gangsters, so she had always been grateful to him.
But after she witnessed my dad's affair, I was afraid that favour no longer existed in my mom's heart.
My grandma didn't know that Silvia was pregnant, so she kept torturing my mom.
"Go to the church tomorrow. You should be more devout this time. When God sees you, he will pay attention to your requirements."
My grandma made trouble from time to time but my father even indulged her.
"Mom is right. Sincerity is the key to success. Let's try again tomorrow."
"Alright."
Surprisingly, my mother agreed, knowing full well that my father would probably kill her.
"I want to go with you!"
I was worried about letting them go out alone, but my dad obviously didn't want to take me with him.
"Louisa, be good. I will take you to the amusement park the day after tomorrow."
Not only my dad but even my mom didn't want to take me with her.
In the evening, when my dad was not around, I hugged my mom and cried out of breath.
"You can't go. He wants to kill you. I don’t want to be a child without a mom! A child without a mom will be bullied by others!"
My mom rubbed my head and promised me.
"Don't worry. I will come back safely. I can't bear to let my baby be bullied by others."
There was a strange look in my mom's eyes. For a moment, I even felt that the person who would fall off the cliff tomorrow might be my dad.
Even though my mom had known my dad’s intention, I was still uneasy.
The next day, when they just left home, I sneaked out and took a taxi to the foot of the mountain with the pocket money I had saved for a long time.
But I was only six years old and I didn’t have a lot of energy. It didn't take long for my legs to go weak and I couldn't walk anymore.
I climbed and rested. When I climbed halfway up the mountain, someone around me shouted in shock.
"Look, someone seems to have jumped off the cliff!"
Passers-by all stopped to look.
I, on the other hand, craned my neck stiffly. When I looked in that direction, there was no sign of the person who had fallen off the cliff.
The passers-by were unconcerned, still chatting enthusiastically.
"People often fall off cliffs in that place. It's very evil."
"There is no fence there. It's very dangerous. Last time I came here, my friend asked me to stand on the edge of the cliff to take photos, but I didn't dare to stand."
After regaining my senses, I rushed to the top of the mountain like crazy.
On the way, whenever I met someone coming down, I would ask them about it and I managed to glean what had happened from their words.
"The person who fell off the cliff was a woman in her thirties."
"Her husband came with her. It seems that she was taking photos at the edge of the cliff when she accidentally fell."
"That man is kneeling on the edge of the cliff and crying miserably."
"I heard that they have a child. If the mom is gone, the child will suffer a lot in the future."
When I was about to reach the top of the mountain, I felt as if my body was filled with lead, so heavy that it was difficult to lift my feet.
