The Crack of a Grain of Rice
Chapter 3
Sadly, they won't get their wish.
I scanned their expressions and nodded solemnly.
"Now, get a divorce immediately."
Sophia heard what I said and collapsed into Mrs. Reynolds' arms.
She cried and begged Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Reynolds to keep me.
She said she couldn't live without me, and her son couldn't live without me either.
She wants to be with me forever.
I remain indifferent.
Mr. Reynolds finally said angrily.
"You can divorce, but we don't agree to the divorce conditions you proposed."
"I've already told your parents about this. When they come, we'll discuss how to get a divorce."
After saying that, Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Reynolds ignored me and walked straight to the sofa, sitting there quietly waiting.
Only Sophia and Daniel were still looking at me expectantly, hoping that I would take back my divorce.
But I remained unmoved and just looked at the door quietly.
Soon, my parents knocked on the door.
But Mr. Reynolds & Mrs. Reynolds were one step faster than me.
They got to the door before me and gave me a look.
It's like saying, I'm dead.
Sure enough, my mother slapped me as soon as she walked in.
"Are you getting brave enough to divorce without discussing it with your parents?"
She looked at Sophia who was crying on the sofa, then reached out and slapped me.
The loud slap silenced the entire living room.
I responded to her with a red and swollen face.
"I said I wanted to leave, and that's it. Even if you come, I won't change my mind."
My mother didn't expect that I would contradict her.
My dad even kicked me down.
"You've really grown up! Not only do you dare to divorce, you even dare to contradict your mother."
As he said this, he was about to hit me.
Sophia quickly stepped in front of me.
"No, Alexander didn't mean it, don't hit him."
Anyone who sees Sophia like this would think that she loves me deeply.
But I felt extremely disgusted.
The way she lovingly protected me made me feel even more disgusted.
I pushed her away.
"Stop being so hypocritical. Even if I were beaten to death today, I wouldn't change my mind about divorcing you."
My cold words stung Sophia.
Daniel stood in front of her.
"Dad, you're crazy! Mom almost got punched by Grandpa because of you, and you actually want a divorce. Are you a cold-blooded animal without any feelings?"
As he spoke, he showed Sophia's swollen ankle, which was sprained because she ran too fast to protect me.
I sneered.
Sophia is really talented.
If I didn't know the truth, I would be deceived by her pretense and lose everything.
When Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Reynolds saw my parents arrive, they sadly told them what had just happened.
After hearing what they said, my parents looked at me with anger.
"Unfilial son, Sophia and Daniel are so kind to you, how dare you do this?"
I argued impatiently.
"If they were doing this for my own good, why would they leave food in their bowls?"
"Ask them how many times I asked them to change it. Did they listen to me?"
My mother was furious.
"Leftovers? How much leftovers have you had since you were a child? Have you ever counted them yourself?"
"Your father and I never threw you out because of this. Are you using this as an excuse now?"
Seeing that I was silent, my mother continued.
"After all, you and Sophia have been married for so many years. If your living habits are not the same, you should tolerate each other."
"Besides, Daniel is your child. He's just leftovers. If there's anything wrong with that, you should educate him properly."
