Chapter 1

At my wedding to a billionaire heir, Malcom Blair, I leaned down and kissed a filthy, ragged man begging by the entrance, right there in front of everyone.

While the guests were still too stunned to react, I grabbed Christine Wagner, Malcom's cousin and my maid of honor, by the hair and slapped her across the face three dozen times in a row.

Everyone thought I had lost my mind and tried to have me locked in a psychiatric hospital.

Inside, I spent the whole night popping champagne and celebrating.

In my last life, not long after the wedding, Christine, a pediatric nurse, set fire to a children's hospital. Many kids died on the spot.

The police and the victims' families surrounded my house, screaming that I was the arsonist.

I stood there, completely confused, while Malcom pulled out surveillance footage and pointed the finger at me.

"You used to complain all the time that taking care of sick kids was worse than dealing with a dog, that it'd be better if they just died and got it over with. I never thought you'd actually be this cruel!"

The families lost control. They doused me in gasoline and burned me alive…

"Breaking news! Bride loses her mind at billionaire wedding!"

"Guess she wasn't meant for the high life. So close to marrying into money, and she snaps."

Below the stage, guests in tailored suits crowded together. Some pulled out hidden cameras and started snapping photos nonstop, while others crouched in corners, clutching their heads and whispering prayers.

All because, while Malcom Blair and I were exchanging vows just moments ago, I slapped him across the face, then dragged over a filthy man from the entrance who looked like a homeless drifter and kissed him in front of everyone.

The entire hall fell into a stunned silence.

I took that moment to grab Malcolm’s cousin, Christine Wagner, by the hair, yank her to the floor, and slap her three dozen times.

When I saw her face swell up, I burst out laughing.

Her scream finally snapped everyone back to reality. They looked at me as if I had lost it.

"Has she gone insane? Isn't Christine her best friend? I heard she's the one who introduced her to Malcolm!"

Malcolm rushed forward and pulled Christine into his arms, shielding her. When he looked at me, shock and disbelief twisted together in his eyes.

"Sandra, what's wrong with you? How could you do this to Christine? Didn't you say she was your best friend? Besides, we planned this wedding together and designed every detail. Are you not happy with it? Why would you do this?"

I tore off my veil and threw it at them, then shoved over the champagne tower I had stacked myself. Glasses shattered across the floor. Screams rippled through the hall.

Malcolm held Christine even tighter, his eyes practically burning.

"You've lost your mind! I can have you committed right now!"

The second I heard that, I couldn't have been happier. I let them take me away without a fight.

In my last life, not long after this wedding, Christine set a fire to a children's hospital.

It was peak flu season. The hospital was packed with kids. No one caught the fire in time, and every child in those rooms burned to death.

The next day, the police came straight to my door and took me away. They released surveillance footage that clearly showed me starting the fire.

But that night, I had been at a hot spring resort with Malcolm. I begged him to prove I was innocent.

His face darkened, his brows drawn tight.

"She complains to me every day after work, saying those sick kids are nothing but trouble. She said that even in her dreams, she wants to burn them alive… I just never thought she'd really do it. These are the clothes she changed out of yesterday. The housekeeper found burn holes all over the hem."

I stared at him, disbelief crashing over me.

How could he say something like that?

The story spread like wildfire. The entire internet turned on me.

In court, the parents of the dead children couldn't hold back their rage. Right there, in the courtroom, they splashed gasoline on me and set me on fire.

"You monster! You killed my child and destroyed my whole family! You're going to pay for this!"

When I opened my eyes again, I realized the psychiatric hospital wasn't such a bad place after all.
