The Bitterest Sugar Is the Hope You Gave
Chapter 2
When Grandma passed away in my arms, I completely lost my heart to Andre.
But Andre thought I was jealous and scolded me impatiently, "Renee, can you stop making a fuss? What difference does it make if the wedding is a day earlier or later? Laura's leg is injured. I can't just ignore her."
I made a fuss!
This is Andre's biggest disdain towards me.
He spent the whole night with Laura on the mountain watching the stars, and I was angry, but he thought I was making a fuss.
He hugged Laura without any sense of boundaries, and I was unhappy, but he thought I was making a fuss.
He shared a cup with Laura, and I was jealous, but he thought I was making a fuss.
Every time Laura called him away from me with a phone call, I argued with him, but he still thought I was making a fuss.
So later I stopped making a fuss.
I ignored Laura's brazen move of moving into our home and pretended not to see it.
I said nothing about Laura taking my pajamas without asking, and I obeyed Andre's request to cook and wash for Laura.
I even saw them sit on the sofa and watch TV together without arguing.
I thought I had given in enough, but what I got in return was even worse harm.
I had had enough of this three-person relationship.
I glared at Andre coldly and said, "We're breaking up. You can do whatever you want from now on, no need to explain to me."
After saying that, I turned and walked towards the bedroom.
Behind me, Laura cautiously asked Andre, "What should I do, Andre? Renee is angry. Won't she really break up with you?"
Andre's tone was calm and contemptuous. "No, she's just making a fuss."
"Oh, yes, Renee likes making a fuss just like her grandmother. Her grandmother even pretended to be sick to force you to marry Laura. How disgusting..."
A surge of hot blood rushed to my head.
By the time I reacted, I had already pressed her face into the water on the table.
Laura struggled frantically, her hands flailing like motors, but she couldn't break free from my grip.
She could only bury her face in the water, her voice muffled.
"Laura... let go of me... sob sob..."
I was like an enraged beast, my eyes wide open.
"Your mouth is so dirty, let me wash it for you!"
Even though my grandma was dead, she still had to be scolded by her.
I went crazy.
