A hot-tempered female reporter shoved a microphone right in my face.

"Luna, after messing around with the black men and getting caught cheating by your fiancé, don’t you feel the slightest bit ashamed?"

When Daisy saw the fury on my face and how I opened my mouth to speak but was in too much pain to get any words out, she smirked knowingly.

"Oh my God, don’t tell me you actually altered your tongue to please those black men?"

"Shit! Is she trying to imitate a snake’s tongue? Look, there’s blood all over her lower body and it looks like there are even snake scales stuck to her legs. That’s disgusting!"

Someone in the crowd scoffed. “This is what you call willing degradation? So filthy! Why didn’t she just die while at it!”

My whole body trembled as tears blurred my vision. I wanted to argue, to scream, but I couldn’t make a sound.

“This is a private hospital room! Who gave you permission to barge in?”

My brother and Gerald rushed in, their eyes red with rage. “Get out, or I’ll sue every one of you!”

“Mr. Bill, your fiancée betrayed you. Are you still going to defend her?”

Gerald froze at the question and Daisy burst into tears as she cut in. “Luna, Gerald loves you so much… Why would you do something so foolish…”

That one sentence nailed me completely to the pillar of shame.

I looked at Nick and Gerald with pleading eyes, desperately hoping they would speak up for me that I was the victim, kidnapped, that the video was fake, that I hadn’t betrayed anyone.

But when they saw the gaping, bloody wounds on Daisy’s shoulder and how she was crying to the point of fainting, Gerald's face went pale.

He turned his head away and said quietly, “No matter what, Luna is the bride I've chosen. I love her, so of course I’ll accept both her flaws and her virtues.”

“Yes! My sister isn't bad at heart. She was just influenced by the environment in the orphanage and hasn’t fully corrected some of her old habits. As long as those of us who love her stay by her side, she’ll definitely get better!”

My brother clenched his fists tightly, completely validating Daisy’s false accusations against me.

I was overwhelmed with despair and suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Their expressions changed instantly and they quickly drove the reporters out.

As they called the doctors to save me, they turned with concern to Daisy, asking how she had gotten hurt.

Daisy wept weakly. “I only said a few caring words to Luna, but she tried to kill me with a knife!”

My brother and Gerald looked at me in utter disbelief.

The system gasped, [If Daisy had been killed by her, all our efforts would’ve been for nothing!]

“Luna, I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person. Not only are you indecent yourself, but you’re also jealous of Daisy? I’m truly disappointed in you!”

“Doctor, don’t treat her yet. Let her reflect on her actions. Come, tend to Daisy’s wounds first!” My brother ordered coldly.

Gerald went a step further and he yanked off my oxygen mask.

Through my haze, I saw Daisy’s smug smile.

She mouthed silently, “Just die already.”

I closed my eyes and tears slid down my cheeks.

The world plunged into darkness, the beeping of the machines growing more and more distant.

Until I could no longer feel pain, a strange alarm sounded.
