Chapter 4

Alpha Samuel Bowers- Where the hell was Steven with my daughter? I knew I shouldn't have let him take her alone, I should've gone with them but I had a very important meeting that I had to attend and according to Steven this was the only opening the doctor would have until next year. I would do anything for my children especially Sophia, even if it meant spending all the money that I had so we could find a way for her to start talking I would do it. Five years ago, on a day quite like this one, I was on my way to work when the guards at the gate called to tell me that I had a visitor, I told them to tell whoever it was that I was on my way out and to come back later but they told me that it was a woman with two babies and she was saying that I was their father. I immediately told him to send them in and then I thought back to my escapades for the past months, now I was no saint but what I was, was careful. Everyone knew who my family was and the wealth and power that we had, everyone wanted to be a part of Blood Moon Pack, and any woman could use a pregnancy as an opportunity to get in with us so I always wore protection except for that one time with her. The woman with the face of an angel, the one that I couldn't get off my mind even till this day, it was a fluke that I stopped by that hotel bar that day, it wasn't where I would usually go, but as fate would have it, I ended up there and that's where I saw her. The night that I spent with her was the best of my life and it shook me to my core because it could only mean one thing, I mean my wolf was basically shouting it in my head all through that night and it took everything in me to hold him back from marking her, the unknown woman was my mate. I left her there alone that night, I know it was the cowards way out but I wasn't ready to face reality yet. But after a few days when I finally got my head around it and saw that I was being scared for no reason, I went back to the hotel and no one knew where she was or even what her name was. I had no idea where to start from, I didn't have her name, no pictures, nothing. There was a knock on my door and as I opened it, she was right there, the woman that I spent months looking for and she had two baby carriers in each of her hands. I opened the door and she stepped in and put the carriers on the floor. She told me that she had also been looking for me and it was hard seeing as she didn't know my name or anything and it wasn't until she saw my picture in the newspaper that she figured out who I was. She said that I was the baby's father and I could do a DNA test if I wanted to, but looking down at the babies I knew they were mine, I mean that was the good thing about being a wolf, we recognised our blood, and those kids were mine. The person I wasn't sure was mine was the woman standing in front of me, my wolf was also confused, I mean she looked like the woman I spent the night with but there was something different about her, her scent wasn't the same and my wolf agreed. I mean she looked the same as she did that night but something was off and for the life of me I couldn't put my finger on it, until I realised that my wolf didn't recognise her, unlike that night, so maybe I was just drunk and confused. We came up with an agreement that day, the kids would be with me full time and she could come and see them whenever she wanted but what she was more interested in was the money I would give to her for child support. Right then and there, I knew that I was just confused by lust that night and there was no way Yara could be my mate and my wolf agreed, he was quiet all through our conversation. So five years later, Yara barely spends time with the children unless I'm there, I think she's still hoping that something is going to happen between us but it won't. The door opens and Steven and Sophia eneter. "Hey baby girl." I say to her but she doesn't even acknowledge my presence, she just runs into the house, probably to go find Franklin her brother. I get up and glare at my brother. "Steven, what's wrong with Sophia?" I growl at him and I didn't even realise that I was that angry. "Calm down, before you go all Alpha on me." My brother says. "Talk now." I tell him because I was this close to throwing him across the room. "Ok, ok, something happened at the airport. I lost Sophia for a few minutes." He says. "You did what?" I snarl at him and he's smart enough to take a few steps back. "I found her ok and she was fine. She ran up to a woman at the airport and called her mummy, I mean I couldn't believe my ears." He says. I also can't believe it. "Are you saying that the doctor did it? That Sophia can talk now?" I ask him, hope in my voice. "No, I don't think it was the doctor because I was there with Sophia in his office and it was the same as the other doctors visits. I think it was the woman." He tells me. "What can you tell me about her." "She's just your run of the mill plane jane mummy." He tells me and I want to smack him across his head. "I'm not talking about her looks doofus, I mean who is she." I tell him. "I have no idea, I tried asking her name but she wouldn't give it." He tells me. "Get the investigative team on it immediately, I want to know everything there is to know about this woman." I tell him. "I'll get right on it." He says and I leave and make my way to the kids playroom. When I get there, I stand by the door and just watch them. Franklin is sharpening some crayons for his sister because she's drawing. "What are you drawing Sophie bear?" Franklin asked his sister. I watched as she wrote something on her paper and pointed at it. "Mummy?" Franklin asked her. Sophia nodded her head. "That isn't mummy Sophia." Franklin told his sister. Sophia just shook her head and went back to her drawing with a smile on her face. I had to find this woman immediately and find out what exactly she did to my daughter.
