Chapter 4

The Night Pack, led by the formidable Alpha Xavier, was known far and wide as the most dominant and powerful werewolf pack in the country. Their strength and unity made them a force to be reckoned with, a true family bound by loyalty and a shared purpose. The Winder Pack, on the other hand, led by Alpha William, mirrored the Night Pack in their strength and ideals, forming a delicate yet powerful balance in the werewolf society.

Xavier admired the way William governed his pack, finding in him a mentor and a father figure. William's guidance played a significant role in shaping Xavier's leadership style, instilling in him the importance of wisdom and empathy.

Xavier's Perspective:

Walking alongside Thomas, my trusted Beta, we patrolled the territory, ensuring all was in order. "Everything is as it should be," Thomas reported, his keen eyes scanning the surroundings.

"Good. William sent a message about new wolves in the area, cautioning us to be watchful, especially concerning our females," I replied, a deep sense of responsibility driving my concern.

Thomas looked at me, his expression serious. "Are they searching for a new pack?"

Shaking my head, I clarified, "No, William suspects they might be kidnapping females. Hence, our females aren't allowed to leave unprotected."

We pondered the situation, considering our options. "We'll keep a watchful eye. Let's see if they move on of their own accord," I decided, Thomas nodding in agreement.

We continued our patrol, Thomas staying vigilant and signaling me when he detected something unusual. "I believe those wolves have been here. Their scent is in the air, and the tracks are distinct from ours," he observed, pointing at the tracks.

Anxiety gripped me as I followed the trail. "They're heading towards William's pack," I remarked, realizing the gravity of the situation.

Thomas, mirroring my concern, said, "I have a bad feeling, Blay."

Nodding, I acknowledged the unease that settled in. "Send a group of wolves to the Winder Pack, and you go as well. Alert William about the situation," I ordered, understanding that swift action was crucial.

Thomas's Perspective:

Arriving at the Winder Pack, I could sense something was terribly wrong. I approached the gates and informed the guard of my purpose, invoking the authority of the Alpha of the Night Pack.

Joseph, William's brother, quickly welcomed me inside, but there was a heaviness in his demeanor. "Thomas, it's good to see you, but I must tell you something grave," he said, his voice laced with sorrow.

Worry gnawed at my insides as I pressed for details. "I need to speak to William."

Joseph's eyes betrayed the pain. "My brother was murdered a few nights ago," he revealed, the words heavy with grief.

My heart sank, the implications of this tragedy weighing heavily on me. "What happened? Was it the new wolves?" I asked, fearing the answer.

Joseph nodded, recounting the horrifying events since the arrival of Moonlit Pack, the details more harrowing with each passing moment.

The New Threat:

"They arrived about two weeks ago, naming themselves Moonlit Pack. Initially, their Alpha claimed they were just passing through. However, when Amanda, William's daughter, returned, their Alpha expressed a sinister desire to claim her. William vehemently denied the request, but the Alpha persisted," Joseph shared, his voice tinged with sorrow and anger.

Days passed, and then Amanda went missing. Joseph continued, "The Alpha made his intentions clear in front of William, causing panic and fear. But soon after, William was gone, and Amanda was traumatized."

Dread clenched my heart at this revelation. "Amanda is gone?" I repeated, grappling with the magnitude of this loss. "I have to return and inform Xavier. Keep the pack safe," I urged Joseph, urgently lacing my voice.

Heading back to our territory, I couldn't shake the heaviness that settled upon me. Amanda, a dear friend and a promising young werewolf, had been taken, and Moonlit Pack had proven to be a more formidable threat than we initially anticipated. I knew I had to prepare myself to break this tragic news to Xavier, and together, we would devise a plan to face the dangers that lay ahead, seeking justice for our fallen comrade and securing the safety of our packs.
