Chapter 7

As she looked down, Luara saw something that caught her attention. Luara's tear-filled eyes focused on the path leading out of the kingdom. It looked narrow and rugged, but it was her way out of the trap that she had unwillingly found herself in. Without a second thought, she made up her mind. She refused to be a mere pawn in some political game.

"I can't do it," she whispered to herself. "I can't go with him."

Edith turned to see Luara crying on the balcony. "What's wrong, my dear?" she asked, placing a comforting hand on Luara's shoulder.

"I can't go through with it," Luara sobbed. "I can't leave my family behind and go with Huran."

Edith sighed. "I know it's hard, my child, but sometimes we must make sacrifices for the greater good."

"I know," Luara replied. "But I can't do this. I have to leave, I can't let Huran take me."

Edith frowned, but she knew better than to argue with the young girl. "Alright, my dear," she said gently. "But you must be careful. The forest can be dangerous."

"I will," Luara replied, as she hurriedly grabbed a few of her belongings from her and headed out of the room.

Luara's feet pounded against the stone steps as she made her way down from her room in the palace. She took quick, furtive glances around her as she walked through the halls, hoping to avoid anyone who might recognize her. Her heart was racing with fear and uncertainty, but she knew she could not stay in the palace any longer. She had to get away.

As she stepped out into the gardens, Luara felt a rush of fresh air fill her lungs. She took a moment to catch her breath and gather her thoughts. Where could she go? What would she do? Her mind raced with questions, but she pushed them aside for the moment.

Luara kept her head down as she ran through the gardens, trying to move as quickly and quietly as possible. She knew that if anyone saw her, they would surely raise the alarm. She had to make it out of the kingdom undetected.

Reaching the edge of the gardens, Luara spotted a narrow path leading into the forest. Without a second thought, she darted down the path and into the trees, her heart pounding with each step. She didn't know where the path would lead, but she knew it was her best chance at escape.

Luara stumbled through the dense forest, her mind racing with thoughts of the uncertain future ahead. She was relieved to finally stumble upon a small stream and collapsed by its side, panting heavily as she tried to catch her breath. With her eyes closed, she took deep breaths, trying to calm her nerves and steady her racing thoughts.

Suddenly, she heard rustling in the bushes nearby, causing her heart to skip a beat. Fear overtook her as she stood up, ready to run from whoever or whatever was approaching.
