Chapter 4

My love story with Giselle was a bit cliché.

No one could have imagined that a good girl from a wealthy family with excellent character and academic performance would be with a bad boy who only knew how to fight and smoke all day long.

We first met in a dark and narrow alley.

I just happened to pass by and saw Giselle being surrounded and teased by a group of thugs. I had no intention of interfering in other people's business. But just as I was about to turn around, Giselle looked up at me.

She had tears in her eyes, looking pitiful and helpless.

Inspired by the glance, I rushed over, knocked down the leader, and ran away with her.

After that day, I started pursuing Giselle. But we were not from the same world.

The gift I gave her was thrown into the trash can, and she handed the love letter I wrote to her to the teacher without even opening it.

Everyone laughed at me, saying that I was not good enough for Giselle.

But Giselle bravely stood in front of me when I was retaliated by that group of thugs. Even when they pulled out a dagger to threaten her, she did not retreat.

When thugs rushed over, Giselle screamed in fright. I protected her under me and got beaten. Only when those thugs saw blood did they disperse.

Giselle hugged me and couldn't stop shaking. A rare expression of fear appeared on her usually cold face.

She buried her face in my chest and cried uncontrollably, "Lemuel, please be okay. Don't you like me? I promise you that I will always be with you."

Though slim, Giselle used up all her strength to carry me on her back and asked passers-by to call an ambulance. She accompanied me to the ambulance. On the way to the hospital, she never let go of my hand.

The doctor teased her and asked her if she was my girlfriend, for she looked so nervous.

Giselle nodded with a red face and begged the doctor to save me, which amused the doctors and nurses.

After that day, she started forcing me to study hard so that I could get into the same university as her.

She said I was so stupid that I would be cheated if she was not around. But it was also her who deceived me.
