Ten Years of DINK Life,Until My Bastard Kids Walked In

8.6 / 10.0
For ten years, my husband and I strictly followed our mutual agreement to live a child-free life. We built our marriage around this shared promise of a DINK lifestyle. However, everything changes on our tenth anniversary when I make a calculated, life-altering decision. I intentionally bring a pair of illegitimate children directly into our home, shattering our long-standing pact. This modern romance novel explores the fallout of a relationship tested by the sudden, deliberate arrival of these kids.

Ten Years of DINK Life,Until My Bastard Kids Walked In Chapter 1

On the tenth year of my agreement with my husband to remain child-free, I deliberately brought home a pair of illegitimate children.

Mrs. Walker slapped me hard across the face.

“You shameless whore! Take those bastards of yours and get the hell out of here.”

My parents were so furious they threatened to cut ties with me.

“From now on, don’t say you know us. We don’t have such a disgraceful daughter.”

Ethan Walker went even further, throwing divorce papers in my face.

“Divorce! Not only that—you’re leaving with nothing.”

I smiled faintly and looked at Ethan.

“Someone will walk away with nothing, but that someone won’t be me. It’ll be you.”

The moment those words fell, the crowd that had been whispering nearby erupted.

“Holy shit, never seen anything this shameless! She cheats and still demands her husband walk away empty-handed. Is there no justice left?”

“Exactly! I heard she married up. Her family only ran a small company before, and thanks to her husband’s connections it grew into a Fortune 500 company. Any other woman would worship him, and she cheats? She must be insane.”

“Ugh, disgusting. An ungrateful bitch who used a man to climb up and still strayed—why hasn’t karma struck her yet?”

Ethan laughed angrily, veins popping on his forehead.

“Melissa Carter, have you lost your mind? I’ve got patience, but I’m no saint.”

“Get this straight—you’re the one who cheated, not me. So why the hell should I be the one to walk away with nothing?”

And he wasn’t wrong. The one who cheated was me.

So I replied,

“Yes, you’re absolutely right.”

“But that doesn’t change the fact—you’ll still be the one leaving with nothing.”

The room fell dead silent.

Everyone stared at me in shock, not understanding why I would say something like that.

Mrs. Walker recovered first. While I wasn’t looking, she raised her hand and slapped me again.

“You crazy woman, what kind of nonsense are you spouting?”

“If it weren’t for your weak health, my son never would have agreed to a vasectomy out of pity for you. With any other daughter-in-law, I’d already be a grandmother by now!”

Her anger only grew.

“Do you have any idea how jealous I feel every time I hear the neighborhood kids call their grandparents? But you—you selfish tramp—you won’t give my son children, and now you bring someone else’s bastards home? And then you dare tell my son to walk away with nothing? How thick-skinned can you be?”

Her cruel words won the crowd over, and they began clapping in approval.

I only sneered.

“Your son wanted to get that vasectomy, not me. Who knows if it was just a cover for his own infertility?”

“But look at me bringing back two kids—that proves I can have children. I’m fine. So what if I had an affair and brought home illegitimate kids? Later on, I can still give Ethan a few of his own.”

Seeing how self-assured I was, both Ethan and his mother turned red with rage again.

Ethan let out a furious sigh.

“What the hell do you mean? Didn’t you just say I’d be the one to walk away with nothing? Now you’re talking about having kids with me? Are you out of your mind?”

I ignored the sarcasm in his tone and laughed lightly.

“That was just anger talking. Why would I ever divorce you?”

“Besides, haven’t you always wanted kids? I just brought home two. Shouldn’t you be happy? And they’re both boys—plenty of people can’t even manage that.”
