Taking My Bad Boyfriend to Court
Chapter 3
Soon, the truth extractor released the first of my memories. It was when Nathan confessed to me.
“Emily, when I first saw you, I fell in love with you! I am willing to treat you well for a lifetime! Will you be my girlfriend?”
At a class party, Nathan suddenly appeared, walking straight toward me with a bouquet of bright red roses. He knelt down on one knee. I loosened my grip on my forks and stood there, dumbfounded.
My friend Ava excitedly shook my hand and said, “Oh my god! It’s so romantic. Emily, you love romance the most, don’t you?”
“If it were me, I would definitely say yes!” Zoe echoed.
With their encouragement, the rest of the class started applauding and chanting, “Together! Together! Together!”
“Emily?” Nathan asked when he saw me remain silent.
I blurted out, “But we don’t know each other well enough!”
At that time, the only connection between us was being in the same class. In fact, I might not even recognize him outside of school.
He pushed his glasses up and stared at me intently, as if trying to see through me. “Emily, we can get to know each other slowly after we become boyfriend and girlfriend! I promise you; I will treat you well for the rest of my life! And I think you are the one.”
“Agree to him!” Ava snatched the roses and quickly stuffed them into my arms. “You often praise Nathan for being handsome in the dorm, don’t you? Now that the handsome guy is confessing to you, why don’t you say yes quickly?”
Nathan stood up and tightly held my hand. “Emily, I will always treat you well!”
