Chapter 4

Gasps rose from the audience, they said, "So she's not a rival fan, she's a stalker fan! She lied about exposing exam fraud just to get on stage with her idol!"

My mic was cut off. No matter how I tried to explain, no one could hear me.

Tommy clenched his teeth and said, "I hate stalker fan like you the most. And now you're even using the national college entrance exam as an excuse to trick me into helping you speak out? Get out! Get out of my concert!"

My homeroom teacher pointed at the students behind him and knelt helplessly before me, "Sherry, you've always been the most sensible student. How could you mess up at the most critical moment? Wake up! It's not just you skipping the exam anymore. The whole class is taking a risk for you!"

He continued, "Retaking the year is a small matter. I'm willing to stay with you through it. But if this is seen as deliberate absenteeism, you'll get the whole class banned from the exam for three years!"

Seeing my teacher kneel didn't move me. Instead, a deep sense of helplessness rose in my heart.

I looked at the crowd below, all pointed fingers at me and at the cold faces behind the cameras. I wanted to speak again, but my mic gave no sound. Security rushed up to pull me away.

I closed my eyes. Was I still doomed to die in the end? No, there was still hope.

I remembered there was a photo in that backpack, a photo of Tommy meeting privately with a wealthy woman.

Just as security reached me, I turned and lunged at Tommy. He didn't expect it and fell backward onto the ground.

The mic broke, it screeched with static before it was cut off entirely.

Tommy tried to scramble up in a panic, but a ring fell out of his pocket. I snatched the ring and threw the photo at him.

I said, "Tommy, I know your secret. If you don't help me, I'll expose that you secretly married a sugar mommy."

Tommy trembled with rage and said, "You really are a stalker fan! You're blackmailing me! Name your price, how much do you want to leave me alone?"

My lips were pale, "I don't want money. I just want a livestream. One with at least eight million viewers."

When security grabbed my arms again, Tommy gritted his teeth, pulled me off the stage and personally escorted me into a private van.

Fans were furious, "Tommy, what are you doing! Why are you helping a stalker fan to escape?"

The crowd chimed in, "You'd abandon the whole stadium of fans for a stalker? Refund! Unfollow! Refund! Unfollow!"

Tommy slammed a fist into the front seat, he punched a hole right through the upholstery. He roared, "You happy now? Look at this mess!"

I shook my head, "Not yet. Give me your phone. I need to livestream using your account. Otherwise, I'll open this door and scream that you're married and kept by a rich woman."

Tommy was in tears as he handed me his phone, "What do you gain by destroying me like this? Why are you doing all this?"

I sighed, "First of all, that backpack wasn't mine. I'm not your stalker fan. Once the dust settles, you'll understand."

As I watched the number of viewers skyrocket in the livestream, my gaze darkened and I said, "I'm sorry. I just want to survive."

Within moments, ten million people flooded into the stream, but it still wasn't enough. They were just ordinary fans.

I sent connection requests to every provincial media official account. Not a single outlet dared accept my call.

At last, the director of the Provincial Education Bureau initiated a connection himself and said, "Miss Miller, whatever grievance you have, tell me. I promise I'll handle it fairly."

Tears finally streamed down my face. Finally.
