After three years abroad, I had tripled the market value of the Carter Group’s overseas branch.

I finally returned home, but I never expected that when I opened the door, I would see another woman also opening the door to my house.

When she saw me, she gave me a cold look and said,

“Are you the new cleaner?”

“Hurry up, my dogs need a bath!”

I asked her who she was and why she was in my home.

“This is my boyfriend’s house, not yours. My boyfriend is Jason Carter, and you—homewrecker—you dare try to seduce my man?”

As she spoke, she pointed to a spot not far away.

When I looked, my face turned pale with anger.

Four dogs were sprawled across my sofa, tearing it apart. That was a luxury sofa I had bought overseas, costing well over a million dollars for the full set.

“I am Jason Carter’s sister. Call him immediately and tell him to come here!”

Suppressing my fury, I glared at the woman in front of me.

When I left, I had only given Jason a key so he could help clean up occasionally. I never imagined he would let his mistress live in my house.

He knew perfectly well that this villa was my mother Margaret’s inheritance to me, and I treasured it deeply.

Even when I had a boyfriend, I wouldn’t let him live here, afraid that something might be damaged. This house was the only memory I had left of my mother.

I never even allowed others to clean it—always doing it myself.

But now, my house had been turned into this.

That sofa the dogs were shredding was a gift I had given my mother. She had sat on it every day before she passed away. Every time I saw it, I thought of her—yet now it had been ruined by these dogs.

“Jason Carter’s sister?”

The woman burst into laughter.

“Jason already told me he had a sister, but she was sent overseas to manage a branch company and would never return in this lifetime!”

“That so-called sister of his wouldn’t have even gotten that position if it weren’t for Jason’s generosity!”

“Our Jason is the real heir of the Carter family!”

Listening to her words, I froze for a moment before letting out a cold laugh.

It seemed that in the years I had been gone, Jason had started to believe he could control the company—and even dream of being the heir.

But if it hadn’t been for me managing things remotely overseas, the company would have collapsed long ago thanks to his reckless behavior. Not to mention, he didn’t even hold that many shares.

“Didn’t you hear what I said?”

Seeing me stand still, the woman charged at me and slapped me again.

“When I tell you to do something, you do it!”

“You haven’t even asked Jason whether I really am his sister.”

My face grew colder with every word as I fixed my eyes on her.

“So what if you are his sister? You still have to listen to me. After all, our Jason is the company’s president now!”
